"Amaka Calma Tulum is a very nice hotel to spend some time while in Tulum. Located in calm Veletta district with lots of restaurants and kiosks nearby. The 7 nights stay was all in all very good."

"Vi havde 3 overnatninger i et swim up værelse og er uden tvivl et besøg værd. Værelserne er super hyggelige. Toilettet er ikke særlig godt afskærmet fra værelset, men sengen er god! Betjeningen er generelt god og personalet er høflige og hjælpesomme. Priserne på maden kunne være billigere, men portionerne og kvaliteten er god, så det opvejede for priserne. Alkohol er alt for dyrt på hotellet og vi endte med aldrig at købe en flaske vin til vores mad af samme grund. Vær opmærksom på at stranden er ret mærket af meget tang, men dette synes at være et generelt “problem” i området. Alt i alt er det er et super hyggeligt og romantisk lille hotel, vi uden tvivl vil vende retur til. Det var det helt rigtige hotel for os at starte vores ferie i Mexico på. "

"The location on the Akumal beach is fantastic and worth going for. The room - a penthouse - was lovely with amazing views and a private outdoor jacuzzi to watch the the local birds from. This is a big hotel with many guests meaning that some of the charm of the location fades when you move around the hotel facilities. Lots of food options, some very nice, some more moderate. The fine dining options vary in quality, mainly because the authenticity lack despite the effort and mouthwatering menus. We enjoyed the Mexican and the European restaurant the most. The grand buffet also had fine moments with freshly grilled gambas and lovely fruits for breakfast. The sushi bar by the pool was a disappointment. No taste in sushi rolls containing too much rice and too little fish. And what does cream cheese do in a sushiroll? I think management should ask themselves why they have a no reservation policy for sunbeds that is posted everywhere when they clearly don’t remove towels that some guests put out before sunrise? That leaves the hotel’s guests with the worst manners to set the rules and downgrades the whole experience, when you wander amongst the empty beds looking to find one that is not reserved. "

"The pictures at Hotel.com’s website is absolutely no similarity to the currently condition of this hotel!… dirty, worn out and in desperate need of some maintenance. We checked in at approximately 15 pm. (prepaid) and checked out again 15:30 pm. due to the poor state of this establishment. Takes about 15 minutes to drive the 1.3 km from the exit of the main road to the hotel due to the bumpy dirt road."
