"This place is a gem! Just a convenient eight miles from the town of Cape Charles, this 3 room inn sits on its own private beach in its own little oasis of peace and beauty. The room was comfortable and well appointed, and the host is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. I really felt like a guest in someone’s home. I highly recommend the Baywood - the in town properties look very nice but everything is so easily accessible that it’s more than worth it to stay in this off the beaten path spot...

"While this seems to be a more old-fashioned property, it is definitely very clean and comfortable. I’m a bit of an germaphobe and although I love to travel, some hotels give me an ick. I did not feel icky here at all. Upon check in we were greeted in a friendly and welcoming manner. We have dealt with three different people at the front desk during our stay and they were all very friendly and professional. We did have an issue with the AC and addressed and it was taken care of immediately....

"For the price it was a very poor motel. Worn down, dirty, only one towel, the ice machine was broken, the air conditioner was very loud. Office time was from 8 am but no one was there 8.10. We will never come back."

"Every room has a private balcony overlooking the Chincoteague Channel. It’s wonderful to wake up in the morning to the cries of gulls and to watch the sun set at the end of the day. Rooms were comfortable, the pool temperature was just right - even in mid-summer - and staff was responsive and kind. The hotel is on the quiet edge of Chincoteague’s downtown. It’s fun to bike around this village and out to Assateague Island. "

"It was our 5 yr Wedding Anniversary, and we had a great trip! Just wish there was a late check out that did not cost extra, many other places we have stayed offered it til noon, and if wanted longer after noon, then there was an additional charge."
