Poppy's Place is your unique Steinhatchee destination with river/gulf access

  • Nestled in a natural Florida Hammock, Poppy's Place resides in one of Steinhatchee's most sought after neighborhoods. The old Florida setting is the perfect balance of seclusion and relaxation while being close to all the local amenities that Steinhatchee has to offer. This unique property, built partially on natural Limestone Rock, has 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in main house and 1 bed and bath in the finished but separate garage and can comfortably sleep 13. The main house has an upstairs Master Suite with a king and a single day bed, the downstairs bedroom has 2 Queen Beds, and 2 full size couches in the living room. The completely remodeled Kitchen and dining area also has seating for up to 13 and you can gather in the comfortable living room area enjoying the smart TV over the Fireplace or the large screened porch allowing for plenty of room to sit, eat and socialize with friends and family. The detached but fully updated "Shark's Den" has 2 Queen Beds and a futon and a Full bath and kitchenette. The outside has a driveway to accommodate several vehicles, a cozy fire pit area, outdoor shower and grilling area. There is also a Dock in our backyard canal, connecting to the Steinhatchee River with Gulf Access, which is a great area to relax. The dock behind the house is on a canal with 2-3’ depth at low tide and there is no longer a fixed bridge. .. beat the boat ramp and see Steinhatchee like a native!

Perfect Scalloping Weekend!

The perfect place for our family to gather and enjoy a scalloping weekend. The Shark Den was a huge hit for the kids!

Nice getaway!

Poppy’s place was the perfect set up for our family scalloping trip. We go with our extended family and this location had space for all of us. It was nice to have indoor and outdoor space including a charcoal grill, dock, and screened in porch. The kitchen was well stocked and everything was clean. Highly recommend this property. Thanks for a great stay!

Family trip

My family enjoyed our stay. The home was well laid out and convenient to anything we might need. The yard was so natural that it gave the feeling of being the only people in the area. We would recommend this home to anyone looking for a nice place to stay.

Perfect getaway

Great place, Everyone loved it.

Beautiful and spacious home in a quite location. We all loved the screened patio and the fixed bridge with the chairs. A very relaxing and quite atmosphere.

One of the best VRBO's we have stayed at in Steinhatchee

We do a company fishing trip every year for our team members and end up using VRBO's. This place was great, and the little additional apartment on main level gave us enough room for everyone.

Steinhatchee Family Scalloping Trip

The property was even better than advertised. Very clean and spacious living area and bedrooms. The kitchen was well stocked with all the items needed for a large group to prepare and eat all of our meals at the house. We would definitely stay again. Highly recommend Poppy’s Place.

Family friendly

Very clean and organized for our family! Brian was very responsive and willing to work with our schedule. Perfect for multiple families or teenage kids. Separate den area offered was a great asset to our family. Short distance to Kathi’s for dinner and only about 15 min out of the channel.

A wonderfully clean, cabin with all the amenities.

We really enjoyed staying a the cabin. Everything was very clean and the newly renovated kitchen and living area was wonderful. The kitchen is beautiful. We loved sitting on the dock and drinking a glass of wine while we watched the beautiful wildlife. It was a great experience. Thank you.

Property was clean and comfy. Very quiet and tucked away. If you have a bigger boat, low tide will be an issue in the canal. But the floating dock is a plus to getting the boat up out of the water. We went in June and almost all the water went out of canalon outgoing tide. Had a little bit of an issue getting into the outside unit and Wi-Fi password but the host got back to us after some time. The kitchen is big and well stocked with supplies and cooking needs. Being a small town, they took that into consideration and have lots of water and paper goods. The washer is a bit temperamental, but we figured it out. Hold down the lid till it starts to spin. One issue we had was the griddle had no propane and was in bad condition to use. We ended up using the pizza stove to cook our steak, which worked for us. Charcoal was on site to use. A grill on the property would be a plus. We were a party of 8 that had lots of room for everyone and overall loved the house. It sits on a coral rock with caves, bridges and great deck space. Can’t wait to come back next year for another scalloping season.

Scalloping/kyakking weekend

Our stay was wonderful! There were 7 of us staying for the weekend to scalloping and kyakking the river. Location was perfect. Access to the local grocery, restaurant, the marina and steinhatchee falls all were very close. The home is extremely clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Im greatly looking forward to returning next year!!

Best place we have stayed for a large group!

10 out of 10! Very clean. Best stocked place ever. The outside is so unique, we saw manatee & gators off the dock. We were able to keep the boat right on the dock, so convenient. Kitchen was great too. Loved it and will try our best to book it again.

Great experience!

My friends/family and I stayed here during the crab festival and had a blast! The pictures listed don't even begin to describe the beauty of the house and property. There was a group of 8+ that slept comfortably here and everyone had their own space. This house is very close to the marinas and restaurants. I highly recommend to anyone considering.

Amazing!!!!

Gorgeous home and property! Perfect for our group of 2 families with teens. Kids loved the shark den and having their own space! Home was so beautiful with every amenity you could imagine! Neighbors where we were able to keep our boat for quick launch to scallop were so friendly. Such a hidden gem!

Fishing Trip

One of the best places our fishing group has stayed at in the past 10 yrs. Close to everything. Super cool layout. Very comfortable. We fished off the back dock every night while we relaxed. Very clean with plenty of bathrooms and comfortable beds. Large open format kitchen with everything you’d need to prepare a large meal. Highly recommend this place.
