Welcome to Sunset Cove, the perfect retreat in the center of Wisconsin's scenic Northwoods. Located on the sandy shores of Lost Lake in St. Germain, this home is the perfect destination for travelers looking to indulge in a private, lakefront vacation surrounded by breathtaking views incuding nature's most beautiful wildlife. Sunset Cove provides unique seclusion, nestled between beautiful trees on each side tucked away from surrounding lake homes. You cannot beat the location - a southwest facing bay where babbling Stella creek meets the calming waves of Lost Lake. It provides a perfectly level, clear and safe space for swimming and excellent fishing. Swans, ducks and bald eagles are all frequent visitors to this impeccably manicured lakefront retreat.

This home has been perfectly appointed to provide all the conveniences of home in a pristine lakefront setting. With floor to ceiling windows facing the lake, the kitchen and living areas at Sunset Cove are bathed in warm, natural light. The kitchen features newer appliances and a charming pub table for entertaining your family and friends. Both bedrooms are conveniently located off of the great room, the master has one queen bed with the second bedroom providing a twin over twin bunkbed and a queen bed.

Lost Lake is 539 acres with a sandy-bottom and clear water known for excellent fishing and water sports of all kinds. The property is surrounded by ATV and snowmobile trails, and is a popular fishing destination with anglers reeling in a variety of species from panfish to Musky and Walleye. You can explore by pontoon, canoe or fishing boat, paddle across the lake or swim right from the property. Lost Creek connects Lost Lake to Big St. Germain Lake, kayaking and water enthusiasts will be overjoyed with the possibilities! For our cold-weather friends, Sunset Cove is a coveted destination for ice fisherman with great fishing right outside the back door of the property. Looking for more adventure? Explore over 500+ miles of snowmobile trails that connect right to the property for convenient access.

When it's time to refuel, enjoy the convenience of a lakefront bar and grill, Patti's Murmuring Waters, just across the lake from the property. Want to get out and explore? Sunset Cove is 10 minutes from downtown St. Germain, 15 minutes from the shops of quaint Eagle River, and 25 minutes from the infamous Minocqua.

The public boat launch is just minutes from the property by car or boat. Pontoons, fishing boats, kayaks, and paddle board rentals are available through Hiller Vacation Homes.

Great, relaxing stay

Overall the house was great-pictures online matched the house in person. The neighbors were quiet, the lake was peaceful. Communication was fantastic, the management company checked in several times. We were a little surprised the grass was so long and that they don’t spray for mosquitoes and ticks, given that it’s a rental. But it is the Northwoods so be mindful of that! We killed about 10 ticks inside. Saw some eagles which was fun!! Our kids and dog absolutely loved it. Also make sure to read the listing, you need to bring your own towels and toilet paper (a couple rolls were provided), seasonings, etc. A cute little place, would stay again!

Great Lake but many problems

We booked this lake house thinking it was very remote, based on the photos, as they do not make it clear there is a neighboring house within about 50' of the front door. It still felt private to us, only because no one was in their other rental next door during our trip. While the lake/beach were fantastic, we encountered a number of unexpected issues that forced us to leave a full day early: -Very uncomfortable/cheap mattresses leading to body aches and pains (we messaged ahead to check that beds were upgrade and they said yes). -Mildew in the bathroom -Landscapers showed up unannounced during a holiday week and forced us to vacate the yard and beach area on our last full day at the lake house -Hiller not taking responsibility for issues (for example claimed house owners hired landscapers when landscapers said they were hired by Hiller) -Unnecessarily early check out time (8AM), claimed to be necessary for cleaning - cleanliness of cabin did not reflect this -Dirty carpet with 10+ pet stains and bad pet smells, not as advertised in the pictures -Broken window screen in master bedroom preventing windows from being open which resulted in bad indoor air quality -Broken stand up paddle board (Hiller did come and give us a replacement, but it took 2 days) The Hiller Vacation group did not respond appropriately to our concerns. Unfortunately we would not recommend anyone stay with them based on our experience.

Beautiful Scenery

Once we understood that wood for the great fireplace was not furnished, that there was no hair dryer, and that temperature gradients within the cabin were higher than we are accustomed to, we settled in and enjoyed what the cabin had to offer. The outside scenery was great and close to x-c groomed trails which was the main reason for spending a few days in the area.

Very beautiful property

This was a very nice property. The owner was very helpful. Our stay was in the winter and was great for ice fishing and snowmobiling. It was only a 10 minute drive to St. Germain and about 20 minutes to Eagle River.

Great house in a fantastic area

We truly enjoyed our stay on Lost Lake. The house was perfect for 4 adults. The location to the riding trails was amazing also. We will definitely look to book this house on our next trip!

Great place

Everything was great!!!! The price point for the property is spot on it has everything you need and more. The wood burning fireplace was great to warm up to after a long day on the lake fishing. Close to many bars and reasturants so there are many options for dinner or lunch if you don't want to cook. Highly recommend this property!!!!

Awesome getaway in a beautiful place

We had an amazing time over the weekend. The property was beautiful and quiet and scenic. It was clean and cozy as well. The only minor issue we had was that the mattresses were incredibly firm and a little uncomfortable for three nights. But the bed frames were so cute and the decor was so rustic and inviting.

Great stay!

Absolutely loved the secluded location for a weekend away. Beautiful lake views and scenic area for outdoor recreation, and the fireplace was a perfect touch for a slightly unexpected snowy weekend. The cabin was clean and accommodating - the kitchen had mostly all of the must-haves for cooking, which made it very easy to pack and plan! Would definitely stay again. Thanks for letting us enjoy your property!

Adequate Lodging for the Rate

We booked Sunset Retreat when our previous vacation plans fell through due to COVID-19. I felt luck to find an opening, and was excited by the description and pictures online, so we booked right away. When I inquired about the boat and motor that was advertised as available (one of the necessities in our search), the owner informed me the boat is no longer navigable. I was not happy, as by this time we had already paid the week’s rent fee. When I asked for some kind of compensation, as I now had to find another boat/motor rental, he did not budge. So, it cost me another $350 above what I had agreed to by our contract. The next day, he took down the verbiage on the boat availability. The house itself was fine - nothing fancy, but adequate for the two of us. I would suggest the owners consult with the housekeeping personnel, as there were dusty surface areas and cobwebs in many corners of the ceilings. The large sliding glass doors to the deck were nice and convenient, but very smudged with whatever they cleaned them with. If they were even cleaned. The refrigerator doors were the same. Maybe due to harsh chemicals needed for a COVID clean? The exterior siding on the lakeside of the house has many chips, holes, and breakage. The availability of the garage was great! I would also suggest the owner trim back the foliage on the path to the dock/pier. Had to squeeze between that and the edge of the lake - very narrow, especially when carting fishing equipment. That’s an easy fix. Again, the rental was okay, but could have been a 5 star with just normal TLC.

Lost Lake retreat

This property is very spacious, quiet and scenic. The location is great for bike riding and fishing, however not for swimming, with the shoreline being very shallow, weedy & rocky. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is updated & the kitchen is very functional. Broken screen doors were problematic and unsightly and the refrigerator was not cleaned well enough. Owner was responsive to these issues & came out & repaired one door. Grass mowing was sloppy.

Beautiful Sunsets

1st Northwoods Experience

My wife and I couldn't be happier with our first trip up to the Wisconsin Northwoods. This house was perfect for our stay with the location being so close to all the surrounding lakes we wanted to fish. Lost Lake itself produced some fish for us and the sunsets were strictly amazing. The decor really made us feel like we were "Up North." Everything we needed was supplied to us. We will definitely come back and recommend this to any family or couple looking for that Great Northwoods experience. Thanks for the memories, Todd and Marcy Lopez

Sunset cove cabin 🌞

This is our second time back to this cabin. It is nice and clean and incredibly located 😊. The inside is perfect for us. I love the two slider doors off the back of the house. It allows for full viewing of the awesome lake and yard. The lake has some weed residue but nothing to keep a city chick out of it. The shallow sandy bottom is very nice. We enjoyed our visit here and look forward to returning 🐿️🌻. Thanks, the Emery's

Little piece of heaven

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Sunset Bay Retreat. The property matched the description and had ample room for us to relax. We loved that it was at lake level, which provided a wonderful view and nice evenings by the campfire. We wish we could have stayed longer but all good things come to an end. We hope to return in the future and appreciate that this little treasure was available for us to rent

Great location. Beautiful area with lots of wildlife. House is nice and close to water/dock. Access to the boat came in handy. It was nice to be able to use the garage also. House was very clean. The newly installed air conditioner was needed a few of the days.

Pleasant stay!

Very nice stay with beautiful lake view. Well equipped with boat and kayaks. The beach area for swimming was not quite what we were looking for. Enjoyed the location for nearby golf and biking trails. Andre was very accommodating!!
