For a family day out, head for Lappa Valley (5 miles), where you can ride the steam train or potter about on the boating lake. Just 10 miles away you’ll find the National Trust’s Carnewas, where you can set off on a beautiful cliff-top hike to the sheltered cove at Porth Mear. Further afield, make a beeline for the Eden Project (13.5 miles) to explore its iconic biomes.


Step inside this two-storey getaway and you’ll discover a bright, open-plan living/kitchen/dining area – the sociable heart of the property. After a day at the beach, sink into a sofa in the living area to unwind with your loved ones.
