A historic, charming, and cozy tjalk that now offers a special place to stay, tucked away in the breathtaking Jisperveld. Here you’ll be surrounded by silence, reeds, and the glistening water of one of Europe’s most beautiful peat meadow areas.
Located on private property in the heart of the Natura 2000 area.

Next to the boat is a private terrace with a garden, where you can enjoy the greenery, the view, and the rhythm of the land and water in complete privacy. A special surprise: the bathroom facilities are housed in a beautifully converted, large wine barrel—completely in keeping with the natural surroundings. Here you’ll find a comfortable shower and a toilet, surprisingly spacious and offering a unique experience.
Inside the tjalk itself, there is 1 toilet, a small kitchen with a 4-burner gas stove and a refrigerator, a small living area with a bench, a flat-screen TV, and a wood-burning stove, and 1 bedroom with a double bed

You’re in the Wormerand Jisperveld, a unique nature reserve that is part of the protected Natura 2000 network. This landscape of narrow ditches, green meadows, and swaying reed beds is affectionately called “the Veld” by the locals. In the spring, it’s teeming with life: black-tailed godwits, lapwings, bluethroats, and bearded reedlings are out in full force—and who knows, you might even spot a marsh harrier soaring overhead or a kingfisher perched right beside you.

Let yourself be carried away by the rhythm of the water, listen to the rustling of the reeds, and feel the wind in your hair. Whether you’re scanning for birds with binoculars, walking in silence along the old paths, or enjoying a sunset from the deck of the tjalk—in the Veld, you’ll always experience something special.
