Et fint sted
Det første vi blev mødt af, var et rart og velkommende personale der fortalte os alt om tøjvask, restauranten og lokalområdet. Der var desværre problemer med poolen de første par dage. Heldigvis gjorde personalet alt hvad de kunne, for at få den op at køre igen. Og den var dejlig afkølende da den virkede. Tennis og bordtennis var tilgængeligt hele tiden og fungerede fint med at låne diverse ketchere og bat i receptionen. Vi havde det lidt varmt da der ingen aircondition var, men det var vi velvidende om inden vi tog afsted. Til vores overraskelse var der både en blæser og en vifte i loftet, som fik det til at føles lidt køligere. Lille tip: tag en ekstra blæser med. I starten var der næsten intet vand i hanen, men da vi gik ned i receptionen og fortalte dem om det, gjorde de noget ved det med det samme. Så alt i alt var det et dejligt, men varmt ophold med god mad og smuk natur.

Kære Sebastian, det var en sand fornøjelse for os at byde dig velkommen til Borgo San Lorenzo a Linari, en storslået historisk landsby beliggende i Sienas grønne bakker kun få kilometer fra Sienas historiske centrum. Vi beklager poolarrangementet, desværre har det varme klima skabt problemer i mange bassiner i dette område, og vi har gjort alt for at løse problemet hurtigst muligt. Vi arbejder meget hårdt for ikke at skabe problemer for vores gæster, nogle gange sker det, ofte uden vores skyld...Vi håber at kunne byde dig velkommen igen for at lade dig opleve det bedste fra Toscana og vise dig nyhederne for næste sæson, som vi er sikre på, du vil kunne lide!!Vi venter på dig!!

Nice - if you can find it
Nice experience staying in an old convent. Good value for money. Pool looked nice, even though we did not use it. Breakfast area a bit cramped. Major problem, however, was finding the place. Roadsigns are bad or not existing even up to the point where you are in fact in front of the place (be sure to check if your GPS will accept the exact adress).

Just a nice quiet property to enjoy some relaxation and close to Siena. Front desk agents were very nice and helped me efficiently.

Thank you Nancy for your stay at Borgo San Lorenzo in Linari, we are really happy about it. As we mention everywhere we do not yet have air conditioning because we are a historic residence placed under the Fine Arts restriction which at the moment does not allow us to put it on. We have appealed and are waiting to be able to start the work as soon as we are given the opportunity. We are immersed in the greenery of our beloved hills, among our growing vines and we have a large and beautiful swimming pool, very useful in periods of intense heat.Trust us, we will be able to surprise you soon.

There is no air conditioning, so it was very uncomfortable to sleep. Also, half the windows had missing or torn screens so we couldn’t leave the windows open for fear of bugs.

Unieke locatie op 7km van de rand van Siena. Netjes welkom geheten, kamers en inrichting passend bij de historische waarde van het voormalige klooster. Zeer ruime kamers met alle voorzieningen. Enige minpuntje is de badkamer, geen moderne inloopdouche maar een ouderwetse douchebak. Ontbijt eenvoudig maar meer dan voldoende, o.a. vers fruit, broodje, croissants en héle lekkere espresso! Al het personeel doet echt moeite om het verblijf te veraangenamen. Tip: het diner in het hotel is van zeer goede kwaliteit! En de serveerster verdient een dikke pluim!

L'environnement de cet établissement est tout simplement fantastique, calme, et très reposant. Le logement était propre et spacieux. Les repas étaient excellents, et le serveur était très efficace et agréable. Je recommande vivement.

Merci Valérie d'avoir passé vos vacances à San Lorenzo a Linari, un ancien monastère des années 1600 qui a été savamment restauré tout en conservant le charme des siècles passés. Une grande piscine, un court de tennis, de grands espaces verts et une cuisine toscane font de ce lieu une excellente solution pour vos vacances en toute détente et sécurité. Wir hatten das große Appartement mit 130qm gebucht und damit ausreichend Platz. Das Gebäude ist alt, aber zauberhaft und die Betten hervorragend. Wer die Natur und Mal was anderes sucht, ist in diesem Hotel richtig. Nur das Frühstück ist halt italienisch und nicht wirklich ausreichend.

Picturesque but lots of hidden fees
This is the most beautiful property. Our room was clean and comfortable with lots of charm. Picturesque in every way. I was dissappointed that they chage you for every little thing. Even the coffee pods on day 2. You have to pay for your pool towels. You have to pay a cleaning fee, on top of the room charge. You have to take out your own garbage.

Dear Sarah, thank you for having stayed at the San Lorenzo in Linari and for deliberately leaving your comment. We are sorry to read some of your dissatisfaction, but we want to clarify that the cleaning costs are well reported at the time of booking on all websites, and we must also think that it is not simple hotel rooms, but true and their own large apartments, which therefore require a lot more attention to cleaning and therefore higher costs. As you have seen, we offer our guests a free welcome set with Nespresso coffee and tea to enjoy them when you wake up or in the evening of your arrival, but this is only for your arrival. If you want to have more you can buy at a modest fee at the reception. Even the pool towels have an expensive cost for us and we ask a little help in covering these expenses, but honestly we do not seem to be exaggerated. We hope you will understand our explenations and we will be able to welcome you again in Siena . Take care Sarah .

Hôtel calme à proximité de Sienne
Nous avons été heureux de revenir dans cet appartement au coeur d'un petit château toscan. Nous avons profité de la table de ping pong et des chaises longues lors de notre très court séjour.

Beautiful location but be aware it is near nothing
I wanted a countryside Italian vacation but unfortunately was unable to pick up my car due to unforeseen circumstances of my bag being stolen over a bank holiday weekend before we flew out the Monday. We had to take public transport and was delayed due to weather but the hotel did provide bus timetable and offered to pick us up by taxi from Siena. We declined as transport was unpredictable. After a €25/30 taxi to the hotel we discovered it is literally no where close to anything. Over an hour walk down country lanes to the closest restaurant and over 6km drive to local shop. We were physically unable to stay here and very upset by this. We could swallow unable to stay for a night due to weather but after paying for 4 nights upfront and not spending more than 20 minutes due to the fact that it is very isolated we were offered 0 refund for not staying at all. I understand the description says countryside and gives distances from local towns but be aware that it is terribly isolated. For me even a countryside retreat should have somewhere to provide food or refreshment within a 30 minute walk or should make this more apparent on the site. I was terribly disappointed and left a very sour taste in my mouth. Do not go if you want to go out for Italian food or have some wine. Driving is a must.

As you wrote, we are in middle of countryside surrounding Siena and, normally, peaceful position and quiet country atmosphere are very much appreciated by travelers. We are so sorry about all of your misfortunes but as you wrote we've tried to make your stay more comfortable: as you were travelling without a car, we offered you all of our help with public transport but you declined this. More than that your booking was for a not refundable rate. We are very sorry, but we've tried to do everything we could in order to help you. Refunds are not normally accorded if problems are not depending from us and this is the case. We really hope that during your next holiday in Tuscany you’ll be able to travel across our amazing countryside, enjoying it! Linari Girls

Bel endroit pour se reposer et visiter Sienne.
Hotel agréable ayant beaucoup de Charme. Belle piscine propre et avec beaucoup d'espace autour pour se détendre. Bel appartement, bien équipé, mais pas super propre (vieille bâtisse). Personnel très serviable et agréable. Nous avons dû écourter notre séjour suite à un décès dans la famille et le patron, Bruno, a été très compréhensif. Bon séjour malgré tout à proximité de Sienne qui est magnifique.

Fint boende i fin miljö
Vi bodde på hotellet en natt när vi bilade i italien. Hotellet ligger på landsbygden och är antagligen ganska svårt att ta sig till utan bil.Jättefina omgivningar och ett väldigt fint rum. Bra frukost och fin service.

Douceur de vivre
Pas très facile à trouver car en pleine campagne toscane, mais très belle surprise: petit château avec piscine, table de ping-pong, nombreux endroits pour se reposer, très calme. Un spa est installé au même endroit (mais nous n'avons pas eu le temps de le tester). Nous étions un couple avec un adolescent et avons bénéficié d'un petit appartement au second étage avec salle de bain et cuisine. Petit-déjeuner copieux servi en salle ou dans la cour intérieure.

En cuanto consigues llegar, merece la pena
Grata y cómoda estancia en un complejo impresionante, sobretodo por el entorno y el jardín. Nos costó bastante encontrar el lugar, llegamos de noche y los amables vecinos de San Rocco Linari nos ayudaron a llegar al hotel, debería estar señalizado o bien facilitar coordenadas e indicaciones. Estuvimos en una planta con tres habitaciones, aunque una de las camas era un sofá bastante incómodo a pesar que en la web figuraba que se trataba de tres camas matrimoniales. Tendría más encanto si la decoración estuviera un poco más cuidada, más acogedora; pero en general se trata de un lugar perfecto para pasar una o dos noches.

Didn't like it at all. Very dissapointed. Room smelled moldie and stinky. Asked if we could cancel and were told that we couldn't without paying for the night anyway!!! Wi-Fi only available in 1 area so everyone had to sit together. No restaurant or bar. Breakfast was OK.

Good value for the money
Amazing old place! In need of some maintenance though. We had urgent problems (no hot water and no light in the bathroom) fixed immediately and the breakfast buffet was extensive and good. We were upgraded to a larger apartment and appreciated that, although the rooms could have been a bit cleaner. The bathroom had a funny odour - we think from crushed stink bugs, but we out some lavender in a bowl in there and it smelled much better. Once we got hot water, the temperature was consistent and good pressure for our shower. It would have been helpful if the water heater was explained when we got our room and how to turn on the gas stove. But we'd stay there again if we came back.

Wir 4 Personen 2 Erwachs. und 2 Kinder haben ein Apartment mit 4 Einzelbetten für 2 Tage gebucht. Wir bekamen ein Doppelbett und eine aufgeklappte Couch zum Schlafen.Der Pool war um 16.30 Uhr voller Fliegen und auf den Tischen an der Poolbar stand alles voll mit Geschirr obwohl nur 2 Leute am Pool lagen Baden ging nicht wegen der Fliegen.Das Frühstück am nächsten war für Italienische Verhältnisse sehr gut.

Das Hotel war definitiv keine 4 Sterne. Wir haben einen Apartment für 2 Personen gebucht. Das Apartment war relative groß aber die Küche sehr klein.Fernsehen war ca. 40 cm gross. Die Möbel waren alt aber OK aber das Hotel ist 1000 Jahre alt. Vorher einen Kloster und danach Privat gekauft. Ich habe den Einblick, da wird überall hier gespart. Poolbar sehr schwach besetzt; sogar kein Wein vorhanden!! Abends muss man wirklich Auswärts was unternehmen weil im Hotel wird nichts angeboten. Der Pool war nicht auf modernsten Zustand. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit aber zu wenig für diese Anlage. Treppenhaus könnte gründlich gereinigt werden: viele toten Mücken und Staub. Frühstück wird am Poolbar als Buffet serviert und war reichlich und gut. Das Haus könnte so charmant sein. Die Kulisse ist sehr romantisch aber es fehlt leider in jeder Ecke. Wir haben nur kurz in einen größeren Zimmer reingeschaut, hat viel mehr an zu bieten. Wir haben letztes Jahr in einen 3 Stern Hotel mehr angeboten bekommen.

True Tuscan experience in rustic Villa!
This "off the beaten track" Tuscan resort will be etched in our minds forever. We stayed on the third floor of a beautiful old rustic red brick building reminiscent of the movie, A Room with A view, and believe me, what a view!The owner was most welcoming and gracious and at the end of a days work it was wonderful to see him join in the fun at the beautiful outdoor swimming pool and play water volleyball. The pool side breakfasts were amazing and inclusive with the room. We had a kitchen and didn't even need to use it. Very spacious apartment with two bedrooms and comfortable firm beds. Thank you San Lorenzo a Linari! We'll be dreaming of you.

Hotel perdu dans la campagne toscane
Hotel sympathique perdu au milieu des champs et idéal pour aller visiter Sienne en voiture pour la journée. L'hotel est propre et l'accueil impeccable.Les chambres pourraient simplement être un peu remises au goût du jour. La piscine est magnifique mais les enfants des familles nombreuses qui l'utilisaient ce jour là ne nous ont pas permis d'en profiter pleinement.

I cannot praise this place enough! I only wish we had more time here. Everything was fabulous: our apartment, the pool, the delicious breakfast, the fluffy towels. It was great! The views from the hotel were beautiful. The hotel grounds were magnificent. We will definitely come back. This place is full of charm. Loved it!

We cooked meals in the kitchen, since there was no restaurant in the hotel. Little bit dusty and need for better cleaning, but ok. No change of towels for 6 days..?Breakfast was basic, good start for the day. Place is beautiful, i recommend fir family stay, if you dont need restaurants or other services. Place feels like "cottage" stay, but there is excellent pool and lots of playground for kids.

Mysigt ställe med okej standard. Huset är 1000 år gammalt. Rymliga lägenheter. Bil ett måste. Mysigt lantställe, men två dagar var tillräckligt. Ingen WiFi på rummet. Bra service!

A começar pela discrepância entre as fotos do site e a realidade do hotel. As fotos travestem uma ilusão de tudo perfeito,mas não é o que se apresenta. Um quarto que chamam de studio, não deveria nem mesmo ser considerado apto para hotelaria. Porta de vidro não dá nenhuma privacidade. Acesso 'a cama como que aventura de jovem escoteiro, tem que ser por escada caracol que nem mesmo cabem as malas. Ao constatar, o "simpático dono" se mostra irredutível e para substituição cobra taxa para apresentar uma acomodação em condições. A limpeza de quarto não existe, apenas quando chega e ao término da estadia, quando não mas interessa ao hóspede, que convive toda estadia sem mesmo arrumação de cama. Oferta de lounge e bar da piscina desativados. Ponto positivo é a localização e proximidade de bons restaurantes. O Sr. que atende no café da manhã e a tranquilidade para quem não quer ver ninguém durante a estadia, nem mesmo as pessoas do hotel.

Très calme, une vue superbe sur la campagne toscane. Belle piscine , petit déjeuner bon et copieux. Personnel compétent et arrangeant; Très bon rapport qualité prix.

Preso come punto d'appoggio per spostarsi e visitare le zone limitrofe, ha contribuito invece a starci piu' del voluto in quanto paradisiaco, confort di livello, piscina e prato all'inglese, spa, colazione eccellente e di qualita', verde e aria pulita, pace e tranquillita', insomma, da provare.
