Woodsy Personal Retreat Cabin - "Quietude"

  • This little one-room cabin is ADORABLE! It has everything you need (and nothing you don't) for a quiet getaway to fill your soul. It has lots of light from large windows looking out at the woods and the Amnicon River valley, and access to hiking trails and our large private sandy beach on the South Shore of Lake Superior.

    Here are a few things you'll want to know before you book this cabin:
    - The cabin is clean, comfortable, and elegant, but still quite rustic. The cabin is available year-round, with a propane fireplace for your main source of heat. It has electricity, but no running water. In the kitchenette is a water dispenser for washing & drinking. Adjacent to the cabin is your own private low-odor outhouse that has a little heater and a light you can turn on from inside the cabin. Just a one-minute walk from the cabin is the main lodge, which has public restrooms for showers and flushing toilets.
    - There is no drive-in access to this cabin. You can unload your vehicle about a one or two-minute walk from the cabin. We offer hand carts and/or utility sleds for bringing luggage to the cabin. The cabin is down a slight hill from the unloading area. After you've unloaded your vehicle, we'll ask you to park your car back in the parking lot along the side of the road.
    - We want to be as transparent as possible about what the cabin is like. In addition to the photos, we have a short 4-minute video tour that shows the layout and surroundings in more detail. We’re happy to share this video with you after booking or upon request. Just send us a message!

comfortable and peaceful

Wonderful property - my extended family rented all 6 cabins for a few nights after a wedding. Cabins are clean and comfortable, property is beautiful, staff is super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed campfires every night and paddling on the river and swimming in the lake.

What a lovely cabin! My husband and I spent a few days away from the city and were delighted to find this little gem. We enjoyed the quietness of the area and the beautiful beach as well.

Quiet Mini-Cabin in the woods

Great little cabin in a fairly remote area. Access to Lake Superior South shore is about a 20 min hike on a nice trail. Amenities feel very similar to most commercial/county campsites. Plenty of parking. Keep in mind there is no AC on the cabin but there is heat. Fun little place to stay.

Perfect to connect with your teen.

My 16 yr old daughter and I stayed for a long weekend and it was perfect. We got to see a porcupine on Porcupine Trail and enjoy the cool evenings with all the windows open. It's a small slice of heaven.

I really enjoyed this little cabin. Though i wish there was better cell phone service it was a peaceful get away. Having the beach a short mile walk away was a perk. It is slightly inconvenient to have to walk to the showers and there isnt much for privacy

Convenience of proximity / Rejuvenation of seclusion

We were able to go out to eat at some fun restaurants for supper each night. At the same time, we felt as though we were hours away from the hustle and bustle. Nature was all around, yet conveniences kept everything hassle free! We will recommend this get-away to friends and family. We will definitely come back multiple times.

Perfect retreat- simple luxury

This cabin was so comfortable and beautiful and relaxing. The stove warms the space very well. The bed is very comfortable. Out house is right outside and has a heater you can turn on too. lots of wood available if you want a fire. The property is gorgeous and staff are friendly and responsive.

Great quite getaway

Cabins are great and just what we needed for a weekend getaway from our busy lives. Cabin is super cute and clean making it a great place to stay. Outhouse is very clean and close to the cabin. Property is beautiful and large. Unfortunately there wasn't any snow this year but we still hiked up to the Lake and enjoyed a walk along the beach. Would be a great place to go snowshoeing when there is snow.

Great escape

We stayed in the Quietude cabin and it was a wonderful escape from the craziness of life. The cabin is VERY clean and comfortable. Amnicon is a lovely location. About the only thing that wasn’t great was the condition of the trail past the clamping tents. The trail was overgrown and impossible to use.

Can't wait to go back

Unfortunately we were only booked for 2 nights. Had I know it was going to be so lovely Id stayed longer. We were celebrating our anniversary and wamted to get away from the weekend. Made the drive from Kansas amd got in later than expected but that was not a problem. Our cabin was ready and easy to find. Loved that the doors was unlocked so there was no code to hunt through emails for. Everything was clean and bed waa comfortable. Loved the use of cannons and all the fire wood we wanted, both free! The managers were more than helpful. They answered all my questions and even helped me plan our itinerary so we could make the most of our short visit. Wish we could habe stayed longer. Next time bringing whole family as it's totally family friendly. Kids will habe a great.

Nice cabin but be aware

My boyfriend and I booked this cabin “Quietude” not knowing that it was sandwiched in between two other cabins. We didn’t see anywhere on the listing about other cabins next to us. This isn’t a huge deal, but we would have liked to know. the info just wasn’t accurately listed. We could see the other people next to us. Also, the showers were pretty run down and dirty. We had no idea we were sharing these showers and bathrooms with younger kids at a church camp. The restrooms desperately need cleaned! I hesitated to shower. This would not have been bad if the curtains were clean or taken down. We did have our own personal toilet which was clean. The actual cabin was very nice and clean.The Porcupine trail was terrible to get to the beach, it is not well kept and was THICK.
