    Prospect Cottage er blevet omhyggeligt og omfattende renoveret af ejerne, og er et dejligt sted at bo. Oprindelige funktioner er bevaret, såsom de smukke stenvindede vinduer, træbjælker og den snoede stentrappe. I mellemtiden tilbyder hytten indbydende ferieboliger året rundt for to par eller en familie på fire.
    Dette sommerhus fra det 17. århundrede er perfekt beliggende i den lille postkortby Kettlewell i den dejlige Yorkshire Dales National Park. Omgivet af et imponerende kulisse af bakker er vandreturen fantastisk lige fra døren med anstrengende vandreture op ad bakkerne eller blide spadsereture langs floden Wharfe. Den lille have har en terrasse med havemøbler og smuk udsigt over Wharfedale-bakkerne og stenmure. Den nærliggende flod er et ideelt sted for picnic om sommeren. Grassington er en kort køretur væk med sin vinterens Dickensian Festival samt den 15-dages sommer Grassington Festival. Markedsbyen Skipton, der stemte som et af de 10 bedste steder at bo (Sunday Times 2016), ligger cirka 16 miles væk. Med tre pubber i landsbyen Kettlewell, der alle tilbyder mad fra bar-snacks til mad i restaurantkvalitet, samt caféer og en blomstrende, velassorteret landsbyshop, er du forkælet for valg. Handle 300 yards, pub 200 yards.

Perfect location.

Perfect location. Loved the fact that the cottage was warm, cosy and that this was easily able to be controlled and adjusted. Very well equipped, kitchen, bathroom. The folders contained all the information you needed. The walks were amazing and very much appreciated. Nice outside space to sit and enjoy the view while having meals or just relax. We loved the fireplace and the kitchen was fully stocked with more than sufficient utensils and crockery. We did have an infestation of woodlouse and although rather annoying after contacting the local office we were made aware that this would be dealt with after our stay as it required the space to be empty. We were originally due to stay at the cottage at Easter but COVID meant we had to delay until autumn half term. We were so disappointed we could not go Easter because the weather was fantastic whilst this half term was wet, wet, wet. Having said that we had a fantastic time doing lots of walks using the excellent guides provided by the owners. Being such a wet week we appreciated coming home to such a lovely cosy cottage after a long day in the hills. We loved the area and cottage so much we have booked it again for next Christmas... as a treat. I think that’s sums up our recommendation. Hoping the weather is better for our next visit. This is a beautifully positioned and tastefully refurbished cottage, with new quality furniture, fixtures and fittings all to a v high standard. For us, it ticks all the boxes and more, with one exception which is the stone staircase. This is an original feature and has it's attractions, besides which I can well understand that it might have been difficult to replace as part of the refurbishment. To be fair, there is reference to this feature in the literature, so anyone contemplating renting the cottage has been warned. For most people I guess this is not going to be a problem. For my wife and I, both in our seventies though reasonably fit it was a bit of a challenge getting up and down stairs. Further the landing needs to be kept lit overnight if anyone is likely to be moving about, because the landing is quite narrow and the unguarded drop is quite steep. Whilst it certainly didn't spoil the holiday for us this time round it is enough of a problem to stop us renting this property again.

We had a fantastic half term break here.

We had a fantastic half term break here. The cottage was very cosy and well equipped, however a few things could be added i.e. garlic crush and table mats as there was only 2. The information on walks straight from the cottage was fantastic, and we completed 3 of the longer ones. The shop in the village is very limited, however you can order a shop on line from various supermarkets for delivery. Pubs in the village all serve food and I would recommend The Kings Head, a bit more expensive, but lovely food and atmosphere.

An excellent cottage, attractively furnished and comfortable for 4 people.

An excellent cottage, attractively furnished and comfortable for 4 people. Virtually everything one could need for a stay was supplied, including some welcome "extras", a bottle of wine, jam, etc. The one difficulty with the cottage is the staircase, a steep spiral, but we were warned appropriately in advance, and it was not hard to negotiate with a little care. This is a centuries old house! But beautifully refurbished. Kettlewell is a good centre for visiting and walking in the Dales. The village shop is a bit basic, but ok for essentials, and the Threshfield supermarket with a good butcher is not far away. Altogether I'd be happy to stay there again.

A really great holiday cottage situated in a lovely Yorkshire village. Prospect Cottage has been beautifully renovated and the addition of quality interior furnishings make it a truly lovely place to spend your holiday. The owner’s attention to detail is second to none and weather permitting you can sit in the garden and soak up the peace surrounding you. There are loads of information leaflets and details of a variety of walks provided so you’re never short of something to do. The village has great amenities and the surrounding Dales offer wonderful scenery, lovely villages, great places to eat and very friendly people. Would highly recommend a holiday at a Prospect Cottage.

The cottage was lovely and spotlessly clean. However, the problem was getting in and out of it! None of the keys worked properly. When we went into the office in Grassington, they said they knew about the problem and offered us another set of keys, which were just as ineffective. We did wonder, if they knew about the problem, why they hadn’t done anything about it!
