The resort community of Black Butte Ranch sits 30 miles northwest of Bend and seven miles northwest of charming downtown Sisters. When you're not golfing, playing tennis, swimming, or riding horses, you'll find many trails for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling within the resort and in the surrounding national forest land. In the summer, several whitewater rafting outfitters have pick-up and drop-off services at the Rec Barn; come winter, you can make the easy 20-mile drive to Hoodoo Ski Area for downhill sporting at its best. On days that you don't feel like cooking, you can head to the Lodge Restaurant for fine dining or to Robert's Pub for casual fare.
