The space
Escape to the heart of the Shropshire Hills and discover Snape Cottage, a beautifully restored four-bedroom country house set within five acres of private grounds, enjoying breathtaking views towards the iconic Devil's Chair, Stiperstones.

Perfect for families, friends and special gatherings, this spacious and character-filled charming cottage combines comfort and modern luxury in a spectacular rural setting.

At the heart of the cottage is a beautiful open-plan kitchen and dining room, designed for much-needed get-togethers over meals and drinks.
Featuring a large dining table to seat 8 guests, a log-burning stove and a cosy sofa to put your feet up and finally relax.

In the spacious kitchen, we have a lots of work surface prep area, along with a central island breakfast bar and stools to start your day with a hot cuppa. Fully fitted with a dishwasher, two refrigerators, separate freezer and everything needed to rustle up a feast.

Our private chef will craft a personalised dining experience just for you. Enjoy multi-course gourmet dishes tailored to your tastes...and a final treat, no washing up afterwards.

Next to the kitchen is the utility room which features storage for shoes, boots and coats, with a separate washing machine and tumble dryer; essential after a trek around the hills.

Walk through into the elegantly furnished sitting room with two chesterfield sofas and an armchair, Smart TV and log-burner.

- pull out the games table which features a superb roulette wheel inside (with betting chips).
There's also a chess board to bring out your competitive edge.

The cottage comfortably sleeps up to eight guests across four spacious and unique bedrooms (two with ensuite bathrooms):

First Floor

Cosy bedroom 3 | with stunning four-poster super king size bed

All with lovely ornate antique furniture pieces for your personal belongings and clothes.

A separate bathroom, featuring a bath and shower is also on this floor.

Second Floor

Spacious bedroom 4 | a flexible split-link super king size bed - or 2 single beds for added convenience. (please let us know your preference at the time of booking).
This bedroom has the second ensuite shower room.

Cinema & Entertainment Room!

When it's time to relax, head to our 'cinema room' featuring a huge 77" Smart TV, two sofas and bean bags for lounging, making it the perfect spot for movie nights, sporting events or family entertainment.

Outside, is a separate converted barn with full-size table-tennis table to take on your friends or family!

Outdoor Living and Experiences

Step outside onto the spacious patio and soak in some of the finest views in Shropshire. Facing directly towards The Stiperstones and Devil's Chair, this is a truly special place to unwind.

We have a large patio leading from the dining area, with elegant outdoor furniture, with table and seating, for enjoying those alfresco moments.

Around the side of the cottage, overlooking the Shropshire countryside is our fabulous wood-fired hot tub to relax under the stars.
All instructions will be given on the use of this before your stay!

When the sun starts setting and the drinks are flowing, why not trek up to the fire pit area behind the cottage. We have seating for all and a 'witches chair' in case someone isn't behaving!

Pet the horses (they are friendly) in the nearby field.

Fancy a venture out to the local pubs, we've got that covered:

The Bridges, Ratlinghope - SY5 0ST - the nearest to the cottage. 30 minutes walk (it's a fairly steep hill so you'll need the wind behind you on the uphill stint home), or 5 minutes by car.
A good pub with local ales. Dog friendly. Nice outside space with a stream alongside.
**Please make sure you check whether they have the dinner menu on for your nights of choice to avoid disappointment.

The Stiperstones Inn - Stiperstones - 15 minutes by car or just over an hour walk across the iconic Stiperstones. SY5 0LZ

Walks
From the cottage, are countless walks across two National Parks.
1. The Stiperstones - you can see this from the cottage - walk up the pathways to reach the top and have miles of incredible hill-top countryside to explore, including the iconic Devils Chair rock formation.

2. Walk over to Church Stretton where you have the stunning stretch of Carding Mill Valley and Long Mynd Hills, along with The Lawley, Caer Caradoc and many many more. If you are an avid hill walker or mountain biker, this area is paradise sent.

Speaking of bikes, we have a storage area for your prized ride to keep it safe.

This area is incredibly popular with trails and fast downhill routes.

What else do we have? A fishing pool maybe.

Bring your fishing tackle and have a go at catching a bite in our pool / lake.
Strictly on a catch and release basis please.

• Snape Cottage welcomes friendly and well-behaved pets. There is a charge of £20 per pet and you must agree to keeping them downstairs and off all furniture, including sofas, chairs, beds and outdoor furniture. This is important to ensure we are adhering to hygiene standards for all future guests.
Please keep your pets on a lead if they are liable to jump fences or cause anxiety to resident live stock. We must all be conscientious of the area and countryside. Thank you.
• We welcome family groups, and groups of friends, and professional contractors.
• Due to the availability of our fishing lake, situated away from the cottage, children must be supervised outdoors by a responsible person.
• Please make yourself aware of the hot tub rules and hours of use. It must be requested at the time of booking and can be filled and prepared ready for your stay.

IMPORTANT: On behalf of our host at Pass the Keys, we require guest verification facilitated by Truvi (Previously called Superhog). Upon confirming your booking, Truvi will contact the lead booker via a secure link, providing detailed instructions for the verification process.

The online verification requires a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card. During this process, you may choose between a refundable GBP 500 deposit (plus GBP 10 transaction fee currency equivalent) or purchase a non-refundable damage waiver of GBP 40 (currency equivalent) to cover potential damages during your stay.

Once the verification process is successfully completed, check-in information will be provided. If you opted in for a deposit, this will be refunded via credit/debit card after your stay, subject to an inspection of the property.
