"This is a quaint and lovely inn tight next door to UVA campus and within walking distance of lots of restaurants plus the market street mall area. The inn keeper, Jake, was super welcoming and helped us carry our luggage in. The staff were all lovely. The room was very clean, comfortable, spacious, and beautiful. "This hotel, originally named the Stonewall Jackson, is over 100 years old, but has aged reasonably well. The rooms are small by modern standards (at least those with ony 1 bed), but adequate. The updated bath in our room was very nice, with a better-than-average shower. "Very historical feeling, but also very elegant and updated and comfortable. Fantastic bed. Stylish lighting and accessories good. Shower was fancy. Pool was unique with statue and columns. Weight room had free weights. Breakfast was not free, but the town is fantastic for finding food options. Walking shop strip district 2 blocks away very worth a visit. Excellent experience."

"The assistant manager that we talked to a couple of times (and checked us in) was very helpful in offering suggestions on activities/dining. The room was spacious and a good value. Everything was clean. The afternoon tea and cookies was nice. They have a large pool available; however, the advertising stated it was heated, but it felt pretty cold. Overall, good value and would stay again!"
