Come home to a quiet newly built three-bedroom house tucked among the trees on a dead-end road in Sewanee. Traffic is rare here. The driveway crosses a small creek before it reaches the house, and once you’re settled, the only sounds most evenings are the woods and the frogs. The University of the South is about a twelve-minute drive away, close enough when you want it and far enough when you don’t.
Hardwood floors run through every room and white walls keep the spaces clean and open. Nothing feels crowded. Each bedroom looks out into the trees, has blackout blinds, and includes a sound machine so the night stays soft.
The main bedroom holds a king bed with both synthetic and down pillows, two nightstands with lamps, and a walk-in closet that quietly holds spare blankets, a pack-and-play, high chair, luggage rack, and hamper. The second bedroom has a queen bed, its own dresser, closet with hamper and luggage rack, and two nightstands with lamps. The third bedroom offers two sets of single bunk beds, a small dresser, and a nightstand with a lamp. All three rooms stay simple and restful.
A half bath sits nearby. The full bath has a tub-and-shower combination with built-in shelves for towels. Under the sink you’ll find a first-aid kit, hairdryer, and toddler seat. A few travel-sized extras—mouthwash, toothbrushes, razors, shaving cream, eye patches, facial wipes, and feminine products—are there if you need them. Laundry shares the same quiet space, with detergent and cleaning supplies within easy reach.
The kitchen is fully stocked for unhurried meals: pots, pans, baking sheets, utensils, blender, and toaster. Coffee is simple—a Nespresso Vertuo with pods, a French press, pour-over, tea, sugar, and creamer. Basic spices and oils sit beside the stove. The dining table seats eight, so meals can stretch as long as you like.
In the living room a large smart TV rests near a comfortable couch and chair. High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout. A quiet workspace holds board games and a welcome book for slower afternoons.
Outside, the large deck holds Adirondack chairs and a Weber grill. Porch lights wrap the space in a warm glow after dark, and the woods stay close.
Every part of the house was built by hand, from the first design through framing and finishing. The result is a calm, considered place meant for slow mornings, quiet evenings, and long stretches of doing very little at all.
