Langenbach lies in the Schleusegrund at the southwest edge of the Thuringian Forest Nature Park. The area is perfect for hiking and cycling, with routes into the Vessertal Biosphere Reserve, around the reservoir or to Lake Ratscher. Sports activities include the Schönbrunn terrace pool and tennis courts in Gießübel. The region is also rich in history: the first industrial village glassworks in Germany was once located here. Excursions to Suhl, Coburg, Erfurt or Weimar add cultural variety. Nature, culture and relaxation combine here for an ideal stay
