"Nice"

"We had a good stay at the HGI in Gastonia. Generally clean, with some signs of wear in the room, but otherwise fine. The staff was above and beyond nice and helpful at the front desk (Crystal was a standout- VERY nice!). The bartender was also nice and helpful when kids in our group wanted to order food. The lounge areas outside and in the lobby were good for adult hangouts. The ONLY things we didn't love were that the pool area was SO loud that we ended up leaving when a group of about 7...

"Propery needs serious room upgrades. Furniture old, worn, couches stained and drooping. Pool out of service this stay and before on my stay here few months prior. Checkout staff curt and uninterested in my stay. Checkout at 12 but breakfast shuts down by 9:30. Barely a 2 star hotel. Needs some serious attention in a lot of areas. Price for stay is competitive, but much better hotels in the area for only a few more bucks. Go elsewhere........"

"The staff were friendly and accommodating. My room faced the freeway and since I could not sleep with the noise, they switched me to another room. I had an interview the next morning so I was glad they made the change. I found the floors were very dirty though, the bottoms of my feet were black from walking around barefoot. I came back from my interview 30 minutes after 11 which was checkout but they did not charge me the extra 25$. Overall the staff were great but I felt the cost was too high. ...
