Shower and towels excellent. Room was airless and stuffy, heat in the corridors was like being in a furnace, Lumpy Pillows and Doonas. This property is suitable for people who want to have their dogs with them at all times. Be aware there is extremely limited parking close to the hotel. Self check in reception staff seemed very disengaged.

Dogs
Unfortunately we won’t be staying again. It’s fine if you have a dog. We were woke by a dog barking at 6.30 am on a Sunday morning. Breakfast was shared with the doggies and the barking continued! Dog owners feeding their pets from the table too.

We paid for the cheapest room, so it was a little small particularly the bathroom. It being an old building it had a very slight damp smell only in the bathroom. The room itself was well appointed and beds very comfortable. Staff were excellent (Chris greeted us). Breakfast was excellent and staff great. A good location and recommended

So good we booked a further night !!!
Struggled with map and areas to use parking permit, drove around for an hour before finding somewhere. Perhaps should used What Three Words to help locate relevant streets. Check in was great, lovely staff and we were able to upgrade our room. Special little touches like dog treats in Christmas tree were a lovely gesture. We’d forgotten dog bowls but hotel happy to provide. Room was lovely , very warm … had to turn radiators down…. Windows only single glazed so a little draughty and noisy (listed?) maybe look at secondary glazing could rectify this. Room was wheelchair accessible, bathroom huge with appropriate shower fir wheelchairs. Issue with seal around shower not fitting adequately so floor flooded, we are able bodied so managed to use large floor squidgy, but would be concerned for some other guests ability to use. Room next to lift so we were disturbed during the night when it was used …by guests. Breakfast is continental but more than adequate with lots of choice. Downside was the tea …. Poor quality…. Nasty aftertaste and we don’t drink coffee. Perhaps invest in good old Yorkshire tea? Cake and hot drinks available at 4pm is a lively idea, again tea and issue but cake was yummy. Could drinks machine also provided hot chocolate? We used dog grooming facilities which is an amazing thing especially when you’ve been out walking in the rain, downside no direct access into hotel Bareca… food/service great… Overall we loved it, service,staff, room. We will be back

Cozy
We were in Scarborough during a cold, off-season week. While clean, Bike and Boot has some wear and tear in some of the common areas and could use a refresh. Our room was clean and comfortable with a nice ocean view. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel!

Great place and staff.
Hotel is lovely, staff are brilliant. Room was great but advise not to book a boot room if you have anything but a very small dog. Unfortunately did not get to stay even one night due to our dog having a meltdown and not stopping barking but staff were lovely and very understanding. Our choice to leave

Fab hotel
Really enjoyed our stay at the Bike and Boot. It's very dog friendly, which was great for us. Our room was comfortable and spacious and the food was great. We were most impressed by the lovely friendly staff, who went over and above to be helpful, especially the front of house chap (apologies for not asking name). Will definitely stay again when in Scarborough.

Fab Hotel highly recommended
Lovely hotel - stayed at many places in Scarborough and would say this has been the best hotel. Friendly and helpful reception staff, room has all facilities you need and is very comfy, the quiet space and bar area very welcoming and restful.

Lovely hotel with great views
This was our second time staying at this hotel, it's a lovely hotel with nice staff a great views and very good facilities. We will be back again at some point in the near future as it's in a perfect location with excellent sea views. The only small negatives to mention is the beds are very firm and not the most comfortable and are also basically two single beds attached to each other to create a queen which makes the middle of the bed quite uncomfortable too I think this issue could be resolved with some decent mattress toppers, also the blinds do the job but the do not go up to the edges of the windows so do let a lot of light in and could really do with the addition of some curtains to block out light, one other thing is the windows don't stay open without using something to keep them open. These things are quite small issues and would not put me off staying again because the hotels location/views/staff/facilities override the issues but the hotel would be perfect if not for the small issues. Looking forward to staying again soon.

Our Medium & Large rooms are able to be made as Twin beds, so they will be 2 single beds connected when set as a Superking - we're sorry that you haven't found this comfortable. A Small Sea View might offer you a better nights sleep, as the mattress is a complete King size that cannot be split and also offers those spectacular sea views!We look forward to seeing you again on another occasion.

Heard a lot of good things about the Bike & Boot. We generally concur! Some areas are in need of a repaint (corridors/stairways) and our shower tray needed replacement. But otherwise, we would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel - it's a good standout amongst the towns many below par/over priced accommodation. We intend to visit their Derbys site next year.

Great hotel in perfect location

Highly recommend - well priced option

Staff were excellent friendly approachable knowledgeable and efficient. Room was comfortable only downsides were the room was a little warm at night and the centre light did not give off a lot of light. Hotel was very clean and the onsite food was good.

The Bike and Boot was a unique hotel in an old building above Scarborough bay enjoying sea views. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the added bonus of a coffee room and friendly staff meant it was a perfect stay.

Average
All looks a bit tired under a veneer of modernisation. Understandable that the structure is not particularly well maintained (eg window frames completely rotten and sink drainage very temperamental) given the obvious cost in a building of this age and style. Quite expensive stay given the quality of the accommodation and surroundings however. Staff fine and breakfast ok, albeit a bit limited in choice. Can’t see beyond an average score with everything taken into account

Had a wonderful one night stay at the Bike and Boot. There were 3 of us, so we got an Attic Mini Suite. The room had a single and a king, and the was a wall so it felt like 2 rooms. Beautifully presented and quite modern for an old building. The building itself is quite a maze, with a very old an small elevator, but that added to the charm. Breakfast was great and plentiful. You get a pass for parking around the hotel, we did find a spot. The staff were great, and lots of places downstairs to sit, play cards, read, talk and there was cake! Close to the waterfront and shops. The best of all was its dog friendly (one floor is dog free) and the were dogs everywhere...loved it!!! Would definitely stay again.

The hotel was clean the staff were very polite and friendly and very helpful.Manage to get a parking space out side the hotel which was very lucky.Would definateley visit the boot and bike again.

Such a great hotel in a fab location! Lovely room, super comfy bed and hotel communal areas tidy and inviting. Utilised the free cinema, enjoyed some free cake and coffee during the day, and the hotel bar/restaurant was good value, with a fast efficient service. We had an issue with our key on second night, but this was dealt with effectively and quickly, can’t fault the staff at all, thanks for helping out so quickly! Would definitely stay again, and recommended highly to family and friends already! Great all round
