Villa Vista de Oro is perched high in the hills above Playa Ocotal, at the end of the road in this peaceful coastal community. Playa Pez Vela is approximately a 6-minute drive, Playa Ocotal about 8 minutes, and the main street in Playas del Coco about 15 minutes away. Guanacaste International Airport (LIR) is approximately 45 minutes by car.

Playa Ocotal is a quieter beach community known for its beautiful sheltered beach and relaxed atmosphere. Grab a meal at Father Rooster or head to Soluna Beach Bistro at Bahia Pez Vela for a sunset drink or dinner. A short drive into Playas del Coco brings you to a lively beach town with supermarkets, fresh fruit vendors, restaurants, bars, shops and the Coco beachfront. Take a walk along the beach or boardwalk, or let our Vacation Specialists help you book one of the many scuba diving, sport fishing and sightseeing excursions.

Open-Air Living
Villa Vista de Oro isn't a traditional enclosed vacation home—it's more like your own private micro-resort—and that's exactly what makes it so special. The bedrooms and kitchen are enclosed, while the heart of the property is completely open to the tropical surroundings. Outside you'll find a sprawling covered living area with comfortable seating, dining space, BBQ and a bar, all connected to the pool terrace and surrounded by spectacular Pacific views. This is where you'll gather for long lunches, cocktails at sunset, lazy afternoons by the pool and evenings beneath the stars.

Traditional Costa Rican Character
The villa celebrates a distinctly Costa Rican style with warm wood, traditional carved furniture, detailed cabinetry, decorative glass and handcrafted elements throughout. This gives the property a sense of history and character that you won't find in a newly built contemporary villa. It feels uniquely connected to the place you're visiting—which is exactly why you came.

The Pool & Outdoor Spaces
The private pool sits at the center of the property, with plenty of space to swim, lounge and enjoy the view. Multiple covered and open-air areas mean there's always somewhere to find sun or shade, gather with the group or escape with a book. A sunken poolside bar beneath a large covered palapa adds another gathering spot, with its own refrigerator and sink. There's also a second outdoor bar with a refrigerator and sink, making it easy to keep drinks and refreshments close at hand. And because so much of the property is outdoors, the landscape isn't something you simply look at through windows. You're surrounded by it.

The Bedrooms
Villa Vista de Oro is offered as a five-bedroom property. The layout includes four independent bedrooms plus a connected Family Suite consisting of two sleeping rooms sharing a bathroom. The Family Suite is particularly well suited to families traveling with children or groups who are comfortable sharing this connected configuration. The bedrooms are arranged across the property rather than along an interior hallway, giving guests plenty of privacy while also creating a very open connection to the tropical surroundings.

📍 GOOD TO KNOW
▪️Gated Entry: Villa Vista de Oro sits behind a gated entry at the end of the main road in Playa Ocotal. The property has a safe for valuables and benefits from the nearby condo community, Azul Paraiso.
▪️Outdoor Bedroom Access: All bedrooms are accessed from outside. There is no interior hallway connecting the bedrooms. Families traveling with children should consider this layout when deciding whether the property is right for their group.
▪️Open-Air Living: The main living, dining and entertaining areas are outdoors beneath covered terraces. The bedrooms and kitchen are enclosed and air conditioned.
▪️Rental Car Required: A vehicle is required to access the property and is strongly recommended for exploring the area. Our Vacation Specialists can assist with rental-car arrangements.
▪️Tropical Environment: The open-air design means guests may encounter insects, geckos, birds and other tropical wildlife, particularly in outdoor areas.
▪️Laundry: A dedicated laundry room includes two full-size washers and two full-size dryers.
▪️Location: Playa Pez Vela is approximately 6 minutes away by car, Playa Ocotal approximately 8 minutes, the main street in Playas del Coco approximately 15 minutes, and the Coco beachfront approximately 18 minutes. Guanacaste International Airport (LIR) is approximately 45 minutes away.
▪️Pool Safety: The pool is located within the main outdoor living area and is not separately fenced. Children should be supervised at all times.
▪️Cliffside Setting: The property is not fenced, and portions of the perimeter have a significant drop-off. Groups traveling with young children should take this into consideration and supervise children closely.

Important: The second room in the Family Suite is accessed through the first sleeping room via a short outdoor hallway. Please review this configuration carefully to ensure it works for your group.

👥 VARIABLE PRICING
While this home sleeps 15, pricing starts for groups of 10 with an extra guest fee of $50/pp/night. This variable pricing structure allows groups of different sizes to enjoy the home. Please enter your accurate group size when booking for proper pricing.

🚧 CONSTRUCTION
A construction project is currently underway on the neighboring property and is expected to continue through December 2026. Guests may experience daytime construction noise while work is underway. The construction does not obstruct Vista de Oro's ocean views, and the pool and outdoor spaces remain fully usable. Rates have been reduced to reflect the potential inconvenience during this period.
