Cute room, Mold Issue

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Initial impression is a cute room, well equipped for a long weekend. Through the first night, began to smell mold/mildew. Inspected the bathroom the following morning to find a patch of 6 x 6 inch mold alongside the tub (beside the sink) - Mildew also along grout in tub. Contacted the front desk who gave me an email and directed me to reach out to the Operations Specialist at RVA and send him the pics I took of the mold. He never emailed me back, but showed up the next morning with a spray bottle to try and tackle the problem. He was able to remove about 80% of the mold. Would not recommend staying in Room 233. I have been staying at Silver Sands for 37 years (never stayed in this particular room) but would not recommend. Also needs a new mattress. Pool needed cleaning and beach chairs needed cleaning. Sad to see the place I have loved so much in need of some TLC

The property is very dated. The very small kitchenette needs updating and the bathroom is in need of a complete remodel. I ould not rent this property in the future nor do I reccommend it.

Needs overhaul

The grounds were beautiful. The room needs painting, new furniture and mold/mildew cleaned. Some of silverware and coffee mugs were not clean. Black mold around tub and baseboard. Did not feel clean entire time was there.

Disappointed this trip

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I sent this email three days ago after checking out and have not received a response: I just checked out of your Silver Sands #233 rental on Longboat Key. This is our third year staying at this property but found this year to be disappointing, especially given that we paid more than previous years. We do enjoy the convenience and amenities of the property, they bring us back each year. This year there were no umbrellas available at the beach and there didn’t appear to be any in use. Perhaps they need to be replaced. We also had a leak in our unit. Although the front staff called a plumber and it was fixed that day it was still an inconvenience. The water coming from the ceiling smelt off urine and the plumber confirmed the pipe leaking was from the upstairs toilet. We had to throw away food and other personal items due to this. I write this in hopes that these issues will be resolved for future renters. The ceiling was patched up and looked just as it did when we arrived. With rising costs, renters expect to receive the best experience possible.

Perfect little place for our short stay

We had a great overnight stay here. The property is really cute, quiet, clean and had everything our family needed. The check in process was simple and the office manager was very friendly. The pool, the mini golf, parking for our truck and the access to the beach were all close and easy to walk to from our room which is great if you're traveling with kids that complain about walking. We wish we could've stayed longer but will definitely return!

Good location, in need of some TLC

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of this property is great, it's an easy walk to the beach and the chairs and umbrellas were in good shape. Our room, however, was in definite need of some TLC. The beds, both in the bedroom and the pull-out couch, were incredibly noisy and creaky, the headboard on the master bed creaked with every little movement we made. The toilet seat and lid were so noisy/creaky you could hear them from anywhere in the suite. The suite also needs some serious cleaning. The railings on the couch were filled with sand and clothing tags from previous guests, and there was food stuck to the couch seats. There was dried coffee in several of the mugs in the cabinet as well. Also, we were told to check in any time after 4pm, but we had to wait in our car until almost 5pm because the room was not ready. Overall, it was not the best experience and we will probably stay elsewhere next time we are in LBK.
