A little bit about Casa Milagro...
It was meticulously created to enthrall its inhabitants to coexist with the natural environment surrounding every square inch of this home and space. With 'Wet Season' running June-October and the 'Dry Season' from November-May, Casa Milagro was created to set the tone for whichever season calls to you more.
Ahead of your stay lays a bumpy, unpaved road with steep inclines surrounding you with emerald colored lush vegetation during the rains & golden colors in the dry months as the Pacific Ocean sparkles at you.
**A 4x4 vehicle is strongly recommended for arrival access and for ease with exploring the many other beaches and hidden corners of Oaxaca’s majestic coastline region.**
Upon arrival, you will instantly recognize the serenity and reverence for the natural beauty of the area. Perched on a dramatic cliff, the home lays suspended between the ocean and the jungle. At the entrance of Casa Milagro, there is a stepless parking space with a native garden welcoming you. On the left side of the entrance door are the stairs to the fruit garden and beach access. Below, along the paved path and stairs you will see a labeled fruit garden comprised of a large variety of fruits which if ripe, will be picked by the groundman, and complimentary to your stay if desired. Continue through the gardens and paved steps will lead you to your hidden beach, Playa del Sol.
Inside the entrance door, a mosaic stone turtle — symbolic of Mother Nature, becomes apparent to remind and encourage you to slow down and move at your own pace while enjoying your stay here. The kitchen lies to the right of the entrance, with its artisan-built ocean motif set into the working island, and soft blue walls paired with a seashell adornment that echo the sky and sea. The kitchen is fully equipped with all of the culinary tools and supplies needed to cook a gourmet meal and settings for 6. A stocked coffee bar is available to the right, with a programmable automatic brew timer.
Throughout the home you’ll find original Oaxacan crafted textiles rooted in local tradition and excellence. The signature furnishings of Casa Milagro is handcrafted woodwork. Every table, chair, door, shelf, and cabinet was made by Oaxacan Master Carpenters using a variety of local tropical hardwoods. Sourced, designed, and built with local materials, every detail of Casa Milagro has been thought of and finely combed over leaving no stone left unturned and every safety detail measured meticulously. ** With the home’s height and nature-immersed design, children must be supervised at all times if present with your stay. **
With respect for the local wildlife and ecosystem, pets are not allowed. Service animals are welcomed.
The main living area of Casa Milagro is comprised of an open-air palapa projected over a cliff offering panoramic views of the Oaxaca coastline and beautiful Pacific Ocean. The living space is flexible and comfortable, offering built-in sofas, armchairs, hammocks, and lounge chairs. Overheard fans are present in every room offering continuous, fresh airflow. Customizable Accent lighting lets you change the atmosphere to your moment in this space and Bluetooth speakers are available to ensure the vibe is met. This space offers the versatility to configure itself to your desires and can also serve as a dance and/or yoga studio. Additionally, a queen-size Murphy bed transforms this space at night into an additional sleeping space. The outdoor balcony offers a gorgeous open-air space accompanied by Casa Milagro’s unique offering, our private pool shimmering at the edge of the deck looking over the cliff and out to infinity.
The air conditioned Master Suite at Casa Milagro lies behind the stone-crafted rainbow wall complete with 2 screened and windowed sliding doors. Inside, a King Bed resides offering breathtaking scenic sunrise and full-moon views flanked by a full precious wood closet for your personal storage. Adjacent is the spacious full bathroom with double sinks and mirror along with a walkout ocean view shower with pressurized water-flow and warm/cold setting selection.
Two Ocean-view workspaces are available at Casa Milagro for your unique needs. One is in the master bedroom and another between the dining room and kitchen. The dining room table is equipped with waterproof plugs in the floor for a larger workspace option. With tranquility and serenity at the center of Casa Milagro, we want to ensure stayers have access to the amenities of modern comfort. WIFI (via Starlink) is available and can be disconnected by choice as well.
Important Notes:
There is no air-conditioning in the open-air areas, by design. The design and orientation of the breeze and fans provide ample fresh airflow to provide a comfortable stay.
The second floor is currently in the final stages of construction as we expand the home with 3 additional bedrooms. No work occurs during guest stays so that your peace remains absolute.
Playa del Sol, the hidden beach you have access to, has no lifeguards, facilities, or added conveniences apparent on the beach. Please practice water safety with respect to the ocean and surrounding space.
A 10-15 minute walk just northeast of our bay is the largest of our beaches, Playa Boquilla also seen in provided pictures. This beach features a small native restaurant at its entry and a fabulous large tourist restaurant at the opposite end. Dine with them on the beach to use their lounge chairs. They provide excellent friendly service and you can always meet others from around the world on the beach if you are looking for company. If you don't feel like cooking, this is your home away from home! Dinner reservations are needed in advance. Daily activities include beach walks and shell collection, meditation, swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking, boat charters, paddle boarding, hiking, massages, books, tropical cocktails and hammock naps.
Upon arrival you will be welcomed and shown throughout Casa Milagro and have any questions answered that you might have.
Casa Milagro is off the beaten track, reached by a three kilometer dirt road that is often rutted and bumpy. A high clearance vehicle is advised, especially in the wet season. It is also advised that you don't drive at night until you are familiar and comfortable with the unprotected inclines.
The home is built sustainably, with passive cooling, rain water catchment, and grey water systems. The rooms are cooled by shades, fans, and ocean breezes. There is air conditioning in the master bedroom should you need it.
When I am not on location, a lovely couple will always be close to assist. I will always be a phone call away for any concern or question to make your stay a most fondest memory. Please advise me prior, during or after your stay of any concerns or requests.
We can help arrange pre/during stay grocery delivery, transportation to/from airport and throughout your stay, as well as food preparation, cleaning and babysitting for additional fees.
We want to help make your stay an unforgettable experience.
Casa Milagro sits within a natural dry forest, which means you’re truly immersed in nature. You are a guest in her world, with a front-row view of the local ecosystem. You may encounter insects and wildlife—this is part of the experience. We provide mosquito nets and recommend using them at night. If you’re sensitive to mosquitoes, please bring your preferred repellent for extra comfort.
Please also know that Casa Milagro is off the beaten path. The dirt roads can be rough, especially after rain, though they improve each year. We strongly advise avoiding night driving until you’re familiar with the route, as there are uneven areas and steep edges that can feel intimidating at first.
