The staff was simply amazing and helped with anything I needed. The area was also amazing and although there’s nothing anyone can do about sargassum in parts of the year, the stay was overall really great.

We were not able to communicate with this property. Once we got to Belize we had no where to stay because they never gave us check in information, and there is no front desk. Thank goodness for expedias excellent customer service! They upgraded us to an amazing new place very quickly. I do not believe this place is actually legitimate, do not stay here!!

North Beach Retreat is the perfect hidden gem on Ambergris Caye. A modest resort that is ideal for those looking for a quieter and relaxing stay outside of the bustling town of San Pedro. The private beach, starlit sky, and close proximity to neighbouring resorts and restaurants provide the perfect balance of remote and convenience. However, the true heart of North Beach are the property caretakers Yvonne & Norman. They welcome you like family and provide an experience that surpassed my expectation. They pour so much love and care into the resort and do not hesitate to tend to the needs of their guests. Whether it was breakfast in bed, fresh coconut water, or showing you local spots in town, my first solo trip was one I will never forget!

My family and I loved our stay at North Beach Retreat! It is right on a private beach, about 45 min away from San Pedro town. Very quiet and relaxing, with beautiful views of the Caribbean Sea. Norman and Yvonne were amazing hosts. They gave great insight about the island, were excellent chefs, and just very kind and hospitable. Would definitely stay here again!!

Best Trip ever, our host ángel made the experience worth it. Make sure he is there if you want to have a good time. The place would be dead without him.

The staff at the hotel are outstanding, super helpful, and Norman in particular is a real all-star. The main issue is something pretty outside their control: the beach outside the hotel is covered with a giant mass of stinking seaweed. This plagues just about all places in the area, but everyone traveling there should be aware that this is an issue. But the staff are awesome. They cook us a lovely breakfast every morning and they show us beaches on other parts of the island. Well done Norman!

5/5 Great stay, amazing service We had a really great experience at North Beach Retreat. The place was comfortable, well located, and perfect for a relaxing stay. What truly made the difference was Norman. He was outstanding, very helpful, responsive, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was taken care of. It is rare to come across someone that attentive. He made our stay smooth and stress free, and because of him we would definitely come back. Highly recommend.

The caretakers are absolutely incredible. I don’t want to detail everything they did to go above and beyond, because possibly when they get busier they can’t do it for every guest. But they went so above and beyond to make sure everyone is comfortable. The property is a gem, but the people make it special.

This is one of the best stays we have ever experienced. Strictly due to the people! Our hosts were outrageously amazing. We could not have asked for better people to take care of us. If you stay anywhere else you are doing yourself a disservice. From breakfast, to dinner, to special treats! The stay was beautiful as well. Very convenient and beautiful. We wouldn’t have changed anything about our stay. 100/10

My care takers, Yvonne and Norman is what made my stay at North beach the most memorable! They treat their guest like family and make sure you are safe and fed with their home made authentic Belizean breakfast. Any issue I had they took care of it immediately. They kept me informed of any specials around the island and even invited me out to drinks and wings on my last day there. The retreat itself is so beautiful. the beachfront looks like a photo straight from a postcard. It is Amazing watching the sunset and sunrise! Norman keeps the grounds well kept and clean. If you are looking for a safe and relaxing stay this is the place to be. I cannot wait to come back to Belize and see my good friends again!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at North Beach Retreat. It was fairly north of town but there were a couple of restaurants nearby that had good food choices and it was nice and quiet. I personally enjoy a quiet beach that isn’t super crowded. When we arrived there was a “happy anniversary” message on the bed that I thought was so sweet and considerate. The caretaker checked on us frequently but not too much. He even brought us cinnamon rolls his wife made. The grounds were super clean and there was security for added safety; however, we never felt unsafe.

Do not stay here! We arrived in Belize and were unable to check in. There was absolutely no communication or responses from them after a multitude of attempts to contact them. Luckily, by booking through Expedia, they helped us find a new location, but as you can imagine, it was quite stressful. We ended up at the Belizean Shores which was absolutely wonderful!
