Of all the beautiful scenery in San Miguel de Allende, I loved Casa Angelitos the most! It's like a fairytale castle on a hill, with beautiful, clever details everywhere you look. It's in a beautiful neighborhood and just a short, lovely walk into town (and even quicker by an inexpensive cab/uber, if that's your thing). The views of the courtyard, surrounding area, and town are amazing.
Breakfast is home-cooked, and there are several choices (I got the chilaquiles, which were delicious, but it seemed like most people got omelets and enjoyed them). Apart from the excellent rooms, there are a lot of cozy indoor common spaces -- equally adorable -- which have a surprising draw. I'm a huge introvert, but still found myself hanging out with Roger, the owner (who's very friendly and knowledgeable), and other guests. And the outdoor spaces are possibly even nicer. Laura in reception is sweet and very helpful, too. There's a big jug of drinking water in your room and the shower in my room was amazing -- great water pressure and hot! I cannot say enough good things about Casa Angelitos, down to the tiniest detail, and can't wait to go back!
p.s. If you're a lady traveling solo (San Miguel is a very safe and friendly town for this!), consider the Luna room. The views are spectacular, and it feels just like being a princess in a castle tower! Gorgeous!!
