The Space:
Welcome to Gardenia Flat, your serene oasis nestled in the heart of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico! Situated on the second floor of a charming historic building, Gardenia Flat offers a fusion of comfort and convenience for your stay in this bustling city. With a maximum occupancy of four guests, Gardenia Flat is perfectly suited for couples, families, or small groups seeking to immerse themselves in the enchanting Old San Juan ambiance. This flat offers a washer and dryer for your convenience, allowing you to travel light. The entire property is equipped with air conditioning for your comfort.

LIVING SPACES

Step into the inviting space and unwind amidst modern comforts and tasteful decor. Relax and catch up on your favorite shows on the provided TV and comfy sofa and armchairs, or simply soak in the charm of Old San Juan from the comfort of your own retreat.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This unit has wooden windows and doors overlooking the street—guests will hear street noise at night, which is part of the charm!

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

Gardenia Flat features two cozy bedrooms, each furnished with a queen bed, perfect for a restful night's sleep after a day exploring the vibrant streets of Old San Juan. The master bedroom has a dedicated workstation with a desk and chair, air conditioning, and it features an ensuite bathroom with a shower. The second bathroom, also with air conditioning and a shower, is located in the entrance hallway. Both bathrooms are stocked with hotel-size amenities, including shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, to get you off to a comfortable start.

PACK AND PLAY (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY): We can leave a complimentary Pack and Play at the property upon request. This should be requested upon booking or no later than 5 days before arrival. Pack and Plays are subject to availability.


KITCHEN

Prepare delicious meals in the well-equipped kitchen, which features a full-size refrigerator, a microwave, an oven, a coffee maker, and a four-burner stove. The kitchen at Gardenia Flat is a fully equipped kitchen perfect for your extended stay. There is seating for 3 guests on the kitchen island.

GETTING AROUND

This property does not include parking. If staying within the general San Juan/Metro area, we recommend moving around via Uber.

If you decide to rent a car, there are various paid parking garages around Old San Juan - pricing varies as some charge by the hour and others have a flat rate.

LOCATION

Staying in Old San Juan is a truly unique experience filled with charm and character. From Gardenia Flat, you can comfortably walk anywhere within Old San Juan. The apartment is located in the heart of it all, just steps away from all the action. We recommend taking a cab or Uber from the airport and using Uber while you stay at Old San Juan. Renting a car is not necessary unless you are planning on road-tripping. This is a truly walkable location with everything you need a short walk away. The apartment does not include parking. Nonetheless, there are convenient parking lots close to the apartment.

There are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites, all within walking distance:

Explore the El Morro Fort. There are daily tours of the fort and the large green areas have spectacular ocean views. Take a tour, have a picnic, and fly a kite. This is a must-do.

Explore the iconic Calle San Sebastian nightlife. There is a large assortment of bars on this strip which is a favorite among locals on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Breakfast at “La Mallorca”. This is a Puerto Rican landmark well known for its locally inspired breakfast and pastries.

Savor Stuffed Avocado. Healthy and "trendy" spot where you can create your own avocado bowl.

Take a stroll around “Paseo La Princesa”, a waterfront walkway which you can start off at El Morro and finish of the walk with a rum tasting at Princesa Gastrobar at the end of the trail.

AMENITIES

West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.

West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay.

HOUSE RULES

Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
Check-out time is at 11:00 am
NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property.
The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service. If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
All bookings are contingent on signing a short-term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
Maximum occupancy of 4 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors.
Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.
Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged.
Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule.
