Great Location for a pre–Ocean Cruise Stay
I had a very nice stay at the Puerto Mayor. It was a good value for the cost especially since it included breakfast. The hotel personnel were pleasant and the room was quiet. I stayed there before a cruise and the cab ride to the terminal only took a few minutes. That was a real convenience. The hotel was within sight of the ship and no hotel was any nearer. I got to San Antonio by bus from Santiago and the taxi ride from the bus terminal to the hotel only took about 15 minutes.

I was able to check in early. I was able to checkout at 2. We could see our cruise ship from our room. The cruise was delayed. They were very accommodating. The restaurant on the property was very and very reasonable. The police HQ is the building next door.

NO LO RECOMIENDO POR NADA
No recomendable, habitaciones sin preocupación por la limpieza, fui en familia y fue la peor elección que pudimos escoger, no es hotel sino que motel, envases de preservativos botados bajo las camas siendo que la habitación estaba recién entregada y “limpia” que da para pensar en el aseo del baño, sábanas, colchas. Baños tapados, falta de papel higiénico. Lo único en que pensábamos en salir pronto de ahí. Ventanas sin seguridad. Lo único rescatable es el desayuno, y la vista pero para eso voy a un restaurant o mirador. Pésima experiencia, lo tomamos como Hotel como dice la página. No lo es y deja mucho que desear. Cero recomendable ni para Motel. Además carísimo, ni un 4 o 5 estrellas cobra lo que ellos por una noche.

Lamentamos la mala experiencia de la pasajera Mariela Segovia (comentario como huésped anónimo). La limpieza e higiene son un tema prioritario e inexcusable para nosotros (como debe ser en cualquier hotel). Hemos adoptado y extremado las medidas del caso. Comprendemos la ofuscación del pasajero y no podemos dudar de lo que dice, aun cuando no hizo ningún reclamo ni comentario en recepción o a la administración del hotel. A la vez, Agradecemos que reconozca el buen servicio de desayuno en nuestros salones y nuestra vista al puerto de San Antonio. Con todo, en ningún caso puede confundirse un hotel con un motel, cualquiera sea la calificación de ambos, y que por los dichos de la pasajera ella parece conocer bien ambas realidades.

Pésimo hotel para nada serio el recepcionista un asco . Tenía una reserva para el día viernes la cual llame que iba en camino y al llegar el tipo me dice que ya había vendido la habitación .. que hago a las 12 de la noche ?? Nunca más en ese hotel ojalá a nadie más le pase

This place is a dump with no customer service. We arrived at 12:30 pm after a very long day and night of travel and were told we could not check into our room. The manager practically yelled at us that “check in time is 2:00!!” When we did get into the room later, we could not believe how shabby it was. We paid a lot for two nights’ stay – way more than it was worth, so I looked up online what the rate was for that night and it was less than half what we were paying. I went to the front desk and pointed this out to the clerk and her response was, “our rates change all the time and you booked a long time ago.” I asked her, “if someone came up and asked for a room right now, you would give it to them at this lower rate?” She said yes. I asked her if she understood why I was upset and wouldn’t she feel the same way if she were in my position. She said yes but she couldn’t do anything about it and I would have to talk to the manager who wasn’t there at the time. She didn’t offer to talk to him for me. The next morning, we tried to take showers and there was no hot water. When I told the desk clerk, she just shrugged. No apologies. Nothing. There was zero attempt during our entire stay to make us feel welcome or comfortable. If you have to stay in San Antonio, avoid this place and stay at the casino.

pre cruise night
Precruise night. It was good. Only a 15 minute walk to the ship. Mostly downhill and then on the level. Continental breakfast. Lovely view of the harbour except for the super big cranes. Walk to the beach and see the sea lions and pelicans.

Hotel is dated and needs modernising.Wifi did not work in bedrooms, no tea or coffee facilities in the room. Location for cruise terminal was the only plus factor

Great place to stay
This is the best location if you are waiting to join a cruise ship in San Antonio. Or just want a good place to stay. Little bungalow type accommodation really comfortable. Breakfast usual but ample continental. A bar attached, tours and taxis can be arranged. Lovely restaurant very close. Good parking, disabled friendly but a little challenging however the staff are very watchful and helpful if needed to ascend a couple of very small inclines. The room is perfectly disabled friendly. Views spectacular. A few shops and restaurants nearby.

Nous avons grandement apprécié l’accueil et le service à notre arrivée. Moins aimé: les chambres ont besoin de bonne rénovations ( tapis très sale). Les gens sont très courtois et sympathiques

Veel te duur voor deze oude kamers
Dit hotel heeft maar 14 of 16 kamers. Ziet er leuk uit, als bungalows maar alles is oud en gammel. Kamers erg klein. Geen koelkast. Douchegordijnrails hangt met touwtje vastgeknoopt aan het plafond. Als je gordijn wil sluiten stort hele rail naar beneden. Dus dan maar open laten waarna wc drijfnat wordt. Met uitzicht op oceaan bedoelen ze de containerhaven. Muren flinterdun. Ontbijt is eenvoudig en beperkt. Op zich prima maar voor deze kamerprijs verwacht je wel iets meer. Personeel is zeer vriendelijk maar de prijs voor deze oude kamers is veel te hoog. Enige pluspunt is ligging t.o.v. cruiseport. Geen andere reden om hier te willen verblijven

Disappointing
If one is fortunate in getting a renovated room, it is a happier experience than our room (#10) with dirty carpet, gaping door, peeling exterior paint, too short beds and dismal bathroom with slippery shower floor. Avoid the lower priced rooms, if you can. San Antonio businesses are profiting from use of this town as a cruiseport Two different couples,with whom we spoke, took a taxi up to this place, only to learn the room had been double booked, and they were being sent to another lodging. This should not happen.

Excellent position for pre/post cruise
A perfect spot in an otherwise uninspiring place to start a cruise. The view of the port was excellent. We chose to dine in a restaurant elsewhere at night. Breakfast was adequate. Staff friendly and very helpful with taxis. We'd certainly stay again.

Nice property with good view of the harbor
Nice hotel, but the shower was less than ideal. Shower nozzle kept falling out of it's holder and there was no hot water one evening. The room was pleasant and clean. It's a reasonable deal for the price.

Not totally impressed
The property at one point was probably very good but it has never been kept up so everything was run down. The view was amazing. Price was not cheap for the condition of the hotel. The restaurant's food was very average, and expensive. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, with instant coffee.

Only cool water available (not hot water in the shower or sink). Carpet was super dirty and air conditioning unit took forever to cool down the room. We could hear the couple next to us all night.

Good stay
Not fancy but very good for only $82 usd 12/21/17. Easy walk to town $5 taxi to cruise ship. Would stay here again No problem. Breakfast was good ham cheese bread and muffins that the wife liked so much she added one to go. Unlimited orange and grapefruit juice

It was ok for a late check in and an early check o
Hotel was adequate for one night of sleep. But the address of the hotel is not where google map showed. How we found the hotel was miraculous. I was so lost and not able to speak Spanish was even more anxious. By some sheer luck and a few turns, the hotel actually was over 2 miles from where googl map took us to the address on the hotel. When we got to the hotel it was on a different street.

Nice San Antonio Local Hotel
We stayed one night after getting off a cruise ship. Cruise port 10 minute uphill walk or 5 minute taxi ride to cruise terminal. 15 minute walk from bus terminal. 10 minute walk to a mall, boardwalk on harbor, and fish market. Cute, older bungalow -style hotel on the bluff overlooking harbor. Reception and staff very efficient and friendly. Room was older, but quite clean and bed comfortable. Good view of harbor from room. Good breakfast and on site restaurant was very pleasant. Would stay here again!
