PROPERTY DETAILS: This traditional 3 level Béarnaise townhouse is over 100 years old and sits in a terrace on a pretty street in the medieval village of Salies-de-Béarn in the South West of France in the department of Pyrenees Atlantique. The house was renovated recently and now comprises 1 double bedroom, an open plan living,dining, kitchen space. Two bathrooms including a bath and a walk-in shower. There is also an additional toilet on the top floor. The bedroom is fitted with a double bed, with wardrobe and small table and bedside cabinets. On the lowest level there is a double sofa bed (Loaf). Both beds have quality linen, duvets and pillows and the bathrooms are equipped with hand and bath towels. The ground floor has a shower room and is a cool living space when the heat gets too much. There is a front load washing machine and tumble dryer on the fist balcony as well as a dishwasher, vacuum cleaner and all the cleaning equipment and materials you could possibly need.

SURROUNDING AREA: Salies de Bearn truly is an authentic French Village and one of the prettiest villages in the region with charming medieval houses and architecture. The village offers many excellent restaurants, shops, bars, bakeries and patisseries, a cinema, an excellent CarreFour supermarket, and a golf course, and everything is within easy walking distance from the house. There is a wonderful weekly market on Thursdays, and numerous fetes throughout the year.Just ten minutes drive takes you to Sauveterre de Bearn set against the backdrop of the beautiful Pyrenees. Continue further to explore Navarenx and on to Oloron Sainte Marie. Salies also has the added advantage of being a spa town. The Selya Resort is a great place to relax and be pampered but also offers aqua gym, aqua bike and aqua pilates sessions. It's very well know for the salt waters which with many valuable minerals especially helpful to those with arthritus, muscle pain and other health conditions.

This beautiful region of South West France is becoming best known for its traditional cafe culture and Basque way of life, and is well serviced by two international airports at Pau and Biarritz. Bordeaux only 2 hours drive and trains are possible to Orthez, Dax and Puyoo. It is also brilliantly located for all holiday pursuits and a perfect base from which to explore the surf beaches, ski stations, Pyrenees mountains, the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage, or perfect just to simply immerse yourself in traditional French Village life. Salies de Bearn is also only 45 mins from the famous surf beaches of Biarritz and Hossegor, the wonderful Pyrenees Ski Stations and the Michelin starred pinxto delights of San Sebastian. Whatever your interests, Salies de Bearn is an excellent destination for a surfing or ski trip, a gourmet Basque getaway, or an extended French experience living and enjoying life in the midst of a thriving French village.Great for your stay

N.B. This is a self catering holiday house which has been cleaned and prepared for your stay. We hope you will enjoy our home as your home away from home.
Don't worry about doing any laundry belonging to the house but if you can leave all towels and bed linnen in the bathroom on the street level that would be grately appreciated.
