Our group of 6 adults really enjoyed our stay at the castle. Having afternoon drinks on the turret watching the hot air balloons float by was magical..Close to bolangerie & grocery.

Chateau

This is a beautiful, historic chateau. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to stay in such a lovely place. The grounds and area are absolutely beautiful, peaceful and quiet. Good location as a base for many day trips to various towns and sites.

We are a family of 5 with adult children with partners and we stayed for over a week in late June. The property is charming, full of character and comfortably accommodated our group of 8 adults. It has plenty of outside areas to relax, by the frog pond, opposite the pool and on the top terrace with fantastic views across the countryside. We stayed during a very hot June and the house stayed comfortably cool and the pool was very welcome. There’s also a free local tennis court behind the property which we also used in the evenings. The hosts were easy to contact, prompt and helpful when we had questions. The house is well located on the edge of a small village about 10 drive from Sarlat, a small medieval town with bars, restaurants and market and also not far from Beynac with its imposing castle and quaint village which surrounds it on the banks of the Dordogne river. We’d recommend hiring some kayaks and doing a trip down the Dordogne from Beynac, taking a picnic and river swimming. There’s also plenty of caves locally which are worth a half day visit. Overall, we would thoroughly recommend staying here, the house and grounds are wonderful, and there’s plenty to do and see, but equally just a lovely place to relax if you just want to unwind.

Amazing house with good location close to Sarlat

Our family really enjoyed staying in this beautiful historic house . 10 minutes drive from Sarlat. The views are amazing.

We have had a lovely week with our family here. We all had a lot of fun in the pool, made good use of the bbq and different dining areas outside, enjoying the amazing views. The property has a lovely quirky French atmosphere and is well equipped. We canoed on the Dordogne and enjoyed re-discovering an area we visited several times many years ago. Three generations made the most of a too-short week.

Our lovely holiday at The Petite Château

Lazy days beside the pool and dining Alfresco! Long lunches in Domme and Sarlat and trips to the picturesque towns nearby. We loved the shabby chic house and gardens and Charles, the host was a pleasure to deal with!

We loved the property, we needed help from Paul & Sarah the caretakers they couldn’t do enough for us .Hopefully we’ll go back in the future.

Wonderful week in Dordogne Region

My group of 4 really enjoyed staying in this Petit Chateau in early July. It was perfect as we visited the surrounding areas during the day and were able to cool off in the pool every evening. Charles and Anne were lovely hosts, and answered all our questions promptly. I wished we could had another week!

Fantastisch huis met een betoverende tuin

We zijn twee weken geweest met onze kinderen voor ons 25 jarige huwelijk in dit fantastische huis met een betoverende tuin. In de omgeving is veel te doen zoals heerlijk eten in Sarlat, kano varen op de Dordogne, kastelen zoals Beynac en Castelnaud-La-Chapelle, de grotten van Proumeysseac en de zondagsmarkt in Issigeac. Het huis is voorzien van alle gemakken met vier slaapkamers met aangrenzende badkamers zodat ieder zijn eigen privacy heeft. Zwembad was een heerlijke uitkomst bij warme dagen. Dit verblijf is zeker een aanrader en een pareltje in de Dordogne.

Lovely castle

It was a great experience to be in Maison Gris in St Andre Allas. Everything was available. In some cold days, the heating was quick and comfortable. The views are excellent. Sarlat is just a few miles away.

Chateau mit Charme

Zauberhaftes kleines Schloss mit großem Garten. Leider war die Temperatur nicht geeignet, das wir den Pool genießen konnten. Sehr empfehlenswert!

A great stay.

We were two families with four older children. Loads of room for everyone and a great location. Would definitely recommend this beautiful property with wonderful views of the local area and hot air balloons in the early mornings. The pool was great to cool off in and loads of different outdoor tables to eat al fresco. Plenty of fridge and freezer space for the larger family.

3 Generations Trip

Incredible home and incredible property in a lovely area. We walked for fresh bread and croissants every morning, explored the region and then refreshed in the pool and listened to the frogs in the pond every evening. The home has such incredible history and we spent the entire week exploring the Dordogne and Vezere river valleys, gardens and castles and falling in love with the medieval town of Sarlat. We hope to come back again soon.

Dordogne trip

Beautiful location and perfect for 3 couples who like to travel together. There is a good boulangerie within a short walk and a fish and chips truck that was excellent that is set up once a week near there. The house has great outdoor spaces, but the weather did not cooperate for us to use the pool(which appears to be very nice). The house is in a lovely rural area but is an easy drive to Sarlat and other places of interest. The owner was great to deal with and we had no problems. We would strongly recommend staying here!

magnifique séjour

Une très belle maison aux nombreux avantages : emplacement proche de tous les grands sites touristiques du Périgord Noir; belles chambres avec salle de bains, très belle cuisine au centre de la maison, plusieurs terrasses extérieures à utiliser en fonction de l'heure de la journée, bbq à gaz, très beau jardin, piscine , très belle vue, calme, et contempler les étoiles du haut de la tour....!!!

Séjour au château

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette demeure, nous étions 4 couples et avoir une salle de bain dans chacune des 4 chambres était vraiment top. Mis à part les chaînes T.V. en anglais, un manque de casseroles ou gros récipient pour faire à manger pour 8, l'équipement est complet. Bel espace de vie, magnifique exterieur. Très belle région, plein de choses à faire et à voir. Les habitants sont très sympathiques commerçants ou particuliers. Beau souvenir. Je recommande fortement.

Paradise in the Dordogne

We spent a lovely week in this beautiful historic property. From the terrace amazing views surrounded by nature .The magical sound of the scop owl and saw deer grazing in the field. Pool just the right temperature despite the unseasonably cool weather. Boulangerie was walking distance from the property lovely bread and patisserie daily. Downstairs bathroom really is room with a view got to be seen to be believed! Plenty to do in surrounding area whatever the weather, picturesque villages spoilt for choice. If interested in archaeology very informative tour at Cap Blanc rock shelter. I would recommend this petite chateau for a very memorable stay.

Unanimous five stars from three generations

This house is quite unusual, with its spiral staircase up the tower to an amazing view over the Dordogne valley. It's comfortable, well equipped and family-friendly. We particularly liked the fact that upstairs is carpeted, while the thick walls and tiled floors downstairs meant it was always cool inside. It isn't isolated, with a small school and public tennis courts opposite, but it is secluded and at night the only sound was croaking frogs. Apart from swimming in the lovely pool, there's lots to do in the area for all ages (ours ranged from 4 to 70+) - we would love to go back.

We spend three wonderful weeks in this little Chateau

When we arrived, everything was well prepared for us. After the first week, my son and a friend of his had to leave, and our friends from Germany arrived. It was very kind of the staff, that they changed linnen etc on Saturday, we thank You very much. We enjoyed of course the pool und the beautiful garden. But we also enjoyed the fully eqipped kitchen, every evening we had beautiful meals. And last but not least: We were happy about the hiking paths in and aroud St. André, we made serveral tours from here to highlights of the region.

Charles and Anne are excellent hosts, answering all of our queries in a helpful and timely manner. The property is beautiful with fantastic views, often with added hot air balloons. Lots of places to sit outside in any weather. It is also very well located in a picturesque village which is a short drive from La Roque Gageac, Sarlat, etc. The bakery and pizza place in the village are not to be missed!There is a wide variety of birds and butterflies in the pretty gardens and immediate surroundings plus some lovely frogs in the fish pond.Guests should be aware that there is no “welcome pack” of essentials like bread, milk, etc. as is common in UK holiday rentals. There is an excellent E.Leclerc supermarket nearby but be aware of opening/closing times. A torch is helpful if arriving after dark to help you get in.
