Don't hand in your credit card
The hotel as such is nice. However, the procedure to gather data to receive the VAT exemption differs from other hotels. The hotel receptionist left the frontdesk without informing why with my credit card. I tried to find him, but had to wait five minutes. Then he came back with a photocopy of my credit card and my passport. This opens up the possibility of stealing my data. I requested the copy, but I had no way of checking whether more copies existed. When I left the hotel next morning, a new receptionist informed me that they only needed the first six numbers. However, this was not implemented. Since they also requested a stamp in my passport which I didn't have because I came from Uruguay (being a resident there there is no need for a stamp), I had to pay VAT in cash. The procedures were not flexible, it felt like I was discussing with a public office. There was no suggestions as to solving the situation from the front desk. I now have to go back and change my credit card which is very tedious. A frustrating experience.
