First visit to Iceland and not sure where to begin? Reykjavik is the the place and Laugavegur is the street.
The FlyBus from Keflavik and a number 7 transfer deposits you and your bags just 1 block from Anita's PERFECTLY situated and well-appointed home. For a jet-lagged traveller, the convenience and ease of arrival was appreciated.
The home is tucked off-street, 30 steps from a bakery/coffee house. It is quiet--ideal for the catnap that refreshed a tired traveler.
The entry allows for easy luggage drop off, and a nice space to take off shoes and immediately get into the rhythm of a new country.
The kitchen is well equipped, especially for a morning routine or easy breakfast/lunch routine. The upstairs living area is comfortable, and there is wifi and a computer available.
The bedrooms are downstairs. A private master bedroom is nearly soundproof and feels immediately warm. The other bedroom houses twin beds in a a room that is divided by a built-in closet. It is ideal for two travelers (or kids) that want to have a bit of privacy for themselves.
The bathroom is neat, with a claw-foot tub/shower. Be sure to mix the water and secure the curtain--the water pressure is strong and the water is HOT!
A final note, and perhaps the most important one; Anita is fantastic. I had many questions before arrival, and they were all answered promptly, professionally and correctly. I had a few extra requests (early luggage drop-off, for example) and she accommodated me with a personal meeting and a few well considered tips to get me started. More, my 21 yr old daughter and I rented a camper van to tour the country, and Anita What'sApp'd me weather updates and suggestions to make our trip more enjoyable even after we had checked out of her home.
Iceland is a country that must be seen to be believed. Get out there and enjoy it. And, if you need a place to sample the pleasures of Reykyavik, I strongly recommend this home.
