"A very beautiful place. A hidden gem with beautiful view. Communication not so good. We waited 3 hours for our dinner which was only one course. We asked several times when we will arrive and answer was: Soon. They had a bad chef and were not totally honest before the day after. The manager tried to fix it by offering us a free night if we stayed a night longer, but we already had planned our trip and booked hotel. Which probably most tourists have. The right thing would have been take one...

We particularly enjoyed the evenings watching spectacular thunderstorms flashing in distant skies over other valleys while there was not a drop of rain where we were. "La Terraza was an absolute delight. The staff and owners couldn’t have been more friendly, more helpful, more accommodating. We stayed in the El Rio apartment. A bit more expensive than a regular room but, OMG, so worth it!! Its large, has a beautiful view from the terrace, full kitchen, beautifully decorated. "We stayed here during a family vacation and were blown away by this beautiful property that’s located in Bajos del Toro, a truly spectacular location in central Costa Rica. William, the owner happened to be there during our visit and both he and Viktor, his business partner, were welcoming and helpful - truly lovely people. The beds were comfortable, the property was clean and well-equipped, and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed drinking our coffee on the back porch overlooking the waterfall....
