"Needs updating."

"The shower was hot, the bed was comfortable. I did have to request a clean sheet though because one of the ones on the bed looked questionable. The pool was out of service, and breakfast ends at 9am, which is earlier than I ever can get to on vacation, so I have no idea of how that is."

"The room was clean. We stayed for 5 days. Check-in went smoothly. Room had a mini fridge and microwave. No alarm clock. No dresser of drawers to place clothes. Only one chair in room. Had to ask to take a chair from the dining area and put in in the room so both wife an I could sit. A big no-no was when another guest of the hotel was given key card access to our room. The other guest and I (and my wife) were shocked when he opened our door. I went immediately to the front desk to inquire why...

"Our room was large, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was minimal and lacked any protein."

"A Book lovers dream!! The books alone could keep me entertained for days! It smells like books! Host is extremely considerate! Place is right in the center of downtown things to do. You can walk everywhere! River 2 blocks away. My personal only complaint was the bed. Tons of soft pillows. Bed is not soft. Im very picky about that though. Wonderful place. Sincerely hope to stay again."

"House was small and not especially clean. Behind curtains and stairs were dirty. I have stayed in old homes before. This one was small and not especially welcoming. The history was interesting though. I like cats and they did not bother us. The cats seemed to be more comfortable than any guest. Our room was surrounded by bathrooms. We did not have to share the Jack and Jill bathroom but the one in the hall was as if it was ours, it was so close. The automatic light in the hall came on...

"The host didn’t pay his power bill and the power was cut off. This is after I sent him the notice that was on the door. They didn’t have WiFi service until the 5th day. His bathroom threshold was a on inch high wooden board that busted your toe at night. They didn’t provide basic supplies like dish washing liquid or coffee supplies . When I I reported this to VRBO and checked out early. The host text me he was part of a business group in the area and he said I would never be able to rent a place...

"The property was terrific. Close to downtown and points of interest. Kitchen was well appointed with an amazing gas range which made cooking easy. Host was gracious and quick to respond with answers to questions. Beds were so comfortable!!!! Especially the brass bed in the room next door to upstairs restroom. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting a clean and comfortable stay in Hanibal."
