"We felt so fortunate to stay at the Gage Mansion while in central Pennsylvania for our son's recent Penn State graduation. While the inn is a 45 minute car ride from campus (and full disclosure: a really hilly, windy one at that), like many PSU parents we found ourselves looking for alternatives miles from campus as State College has a well-known shortage of hotel beds for its big weekends. "We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed at Serendipity, a unique area in the back of the camp so we had a lot of privacy. I was skeptical of the "tabins" because not the best pictures online but was pleasantly content when we got here. They were spacious enough to accommodate and the beds were fine. It's not the cleanest, but as long as you bring a sheet and/or sleeping bag to place on top of the mattress it was quite comfortable. "Comfortable cabin in a beautiful setting. We loved catching up on movies we never watched and taking hikes on the quiet roads. Lots of deer to watch. Off the beaten path a bit but plenty of good restaurants within a 15-20 min drive. Would definitely visit again!"
