"What a beautiful property! We had an hours-long tour with Kathy, the caretaker, who lives in a cottage at the back of the property. There was so much to explore! The kids loved the pool. We played tennis. We walked, and walked, and walked. Quirky, and fun! Kathy and the team go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Beds were comfy, and lots of care taken to keep the place clean and visually interesting. Enjoy! "

"Good budget accomodation. Room dated but reasonably ok. No amenities in room at all, just beds and a pedestal fan, 1 bathroom ok the other good. Quiet location. Lots of stairs."

"Customer service was excellent. Room was clean and comfortable. Private secure parking available. Shared toilets/showers could have been cleaner."

"The meals were very generous and good pub fare. The room was not heated at all, so be aware in winter it's cold!! An electric blanket would have been helpful. That said, the blankets were warm. Wifi didn't work in the rooms, so we weren't able to watch anything or plan the next day (no tv). Wifi worked in the shared lounge and in the bar. It was clearly a grand hotel in its day, nice that not too much has been modernised. "

"We were met at the gate by Sophie, property manager, who took us on a tour through her beautiful gardens and who was kind, welcoming and helpful throughout our four night stay. Jam, milk, cofee and tea were provided for us. The cottage is clean and well set out, with the second bed being a sofa bed which was suitable for one daughter but wouldn't have suited both. The owner had checked with us ahead of time and thus, we'd brought our own blow up mattress, so all was well. The girls enjoyed the...
