"I really enjoyed staying at the Owl Getaway and didn't want to leave when my time was up. It was a perfect little place to get away: Secluded and quiet (except for being able to hear traffic on the road above - though it doesn't get a lot of traffic). The screened-in porch among the trees is great! The listing is literal when it says "shower only" for the bathroom: It not only means no tub, but that the sink is in the kitchen. I'll also say that I did drink the tap water, too, in case anyone is...

"This was a perfect place for my husband and I to unplug and reconnect with God, each other and nature. It was so quiet on the back porch we could hear the wings of the birds fluttering as they took off. "

"The term "hotel" is a little misleading as it is more like an inn where there is no hotel staff onsite. An innkeeper greeted us to check us in and give us a tour of the property. The room was very clean and comfortable. We also visited the onsite restaurant, which was lovely. The food was excellent! Unfortunately, there were no real options for breakfast in town and no shopping or entertainment. If you stay here, be prepared for a quiet night in."

"We really enjoyed our (1) night stay. We spent the night and skied at whitetail just 5 miles away. Host was wonderful. Common living room area was spacious and had an awesome gas fireplace that put out a lot of heat. Very cozy atmosphere. Learned about the history of the Buchanan Hotel. "We had a wonderful stay in Big Cove Tannery! The accommodation's were exceptional. Everything we needed was there. We loved the creek, the fire pit, playing cornhole, hot tub, and more. We kayaked, rode bikes, and went to wineries on the days the heatwave hit. We loved it here and hope to return. "

"This was our second time staying at this property. Obviously we loved it the first time. Our experience was just as good the avacation. The kids loved playing on the boat and going down the slides. They enjoyed the creek and paths in the woods and had many adventures with pirates, princesses and fairies. They enjoyed feeding the fish as well. Everyone, including the adults enjoyed the swings. The open floor plan allowed everyone to hang out in the evenings together, but socalizing. ...
