"The highlight to me was the staff - attentive, accommodating, friendly and enthusiastically helpful, despite my lack of fluency in Portuguese. and varying degrees of fluency in English on their part. I found the 4x4 trip to the resort more heartbreaking than bone-jarring. The indigant people live off very little. I was wondering if a boat transfer from Pemba would be possible? "Where to start. The lodge is just amazing and could not ask for a better stay for my first visit to Pemba. The service is excellent and food is just amazing, with great hospitality from the start to finish there is not much that they can improve on.
