Loft Hotel
Pros: great location on Malecon. Water dispensers at each floor. Complimentary coffee. Rooms spacious, & clean (depending on room/cleaning lady?). Great desk staff friendly/helpful & some speak English. Pool is smallish but really nice. Lots of open air seating near pool. When I asked to switch rooms after first night, they accomodated me.
Cons: My room was at corner near Morelos was super noisy due to vehicles & blaring car music/city tour music. I switched rooms for an inferior 'inside room'. Waaaaay more quiet. But 2nd room wasn't cleaned properly (dirty around sink & tap handle was off & clearly visible). No soap bars or shampoo (I had to ask). The safe was locked shut so I had ask & wait for someone to come & open/reset it so I could use it. The toilet seat was ready to fall off, the lid keeps falling down. I'm shocked the cleaning lady either didn't notice or didn't care about those obvious issues & not remedy them or notify a supervisor ahead of me moving in. Also, after 1st flush the toilet tank stopped filling with water. Had to have someone fix & replace a part. People were pretty good about helping when asked, but each time I'd have to wait yet again for a fix... obvious issues should just be taken care of. This is my 2nd time here, and not sure if I'd come back...or I'd be very specific when booking. In-room wifi very patchy.
