Stunning Log Cabin Getaway North of Nashville

Welcome to `The Getaway`. One of Nashville’s finest retreats. Located North of Nashville on a privately gated 50 acres & featuring a large fishing pond steps from the front porch. This Log Cabin is the perfect place to “get away” for both small & large gatherings alike. Enjoy comfortable beds to sleep up to 16, a gourmet kitchen, spacious areas to dine together, an incredible games room & a full wrap-around porch. The center piece of this stunning cabin is the large stack stone fireplace that rises from floor to ceiling & the incredible wagon wheel designed chandelier that hangs overhead. Seamlessly flow from one room to another as you enjoy time together as a group with this open floor plan. If you are planning to hunker down & cook in during your stay then the kitchen will not disappoint. The 6 burner Viking professional range with double ovens & griddle is every chef’s dream. The ceramic farmhouse sink & large island with butcher block countertop invites discussion & companionship for multiple cooks to share the workload…

All of the bedrooms are splendidly appointed with all linens / towels included & feature breathtaking views all around. A few steps from the main cabin lies a vast detached building that has been wonderfully converted to a games haven. Featuring Ping Pong, Foosball, Darts Board, Fireplace, Seating, Big Screen TV, Tandem Basketball Shooter, Poker Table, Corn Hole Boards, Giant Connect Four and more…

Grab a mug of coffee in the morning & watch the sun rise over the tree tops or share stories together around the fire pit at night as the sun goes down & the stars come out in force!

You will be able to call and text us during your stay if something comes up. Please understand the we do not live onsite though so if something is needed, we will make every effort to accommodate but an immediate remedy is not always possible.

This Log Cabin is situated on the rear 5 acres of 50 acres of rolling pastureland. You can run around and play and likely enjoy the numerous visits of local wildlife such as deer and turkey. There is a large pond that you can fish along just steps from the cabin.

If you plan to leave the comfort of this sanctuary to visit Nashville, then you are a 40 minute drive or Uber/Lyft from Downtown.
The closest boat ramp if you intend to take your boat out on Old Hickory Lake is 15 mins away or closer to 25 mins to a Marina that you can rent a boat from. If you are a guest attending one of the several wedding venues in the area then 2 of the largest venues located at Long Hollow Nurseries or Bagsby Ranch are both just 12 minutes away.
All in all, everything is at your fingertips when you stay with us at ‘The Get Away’. Whether you are a local guest or visiting from out of town, you’ll enjoy the convenience of peaceful tranquility or a hustle & bustle of activities!

The property and cabin are rustic and private. A ton of space for the kids to play and roam. The hosts were very responsive. There were a few maintenance items that need to be addressed that took away from our experience, but our overall stay was still great.

Best of Both Worlds

Booked this property for my bachelor party with 10 friends and it was a perfect blend of fun action in downtown Nashville and a quiet chill getaway. The property has just about everything you need, fire pit was great for hanging at night after the long days, game room was a blast and a nice escape from the heat. Ubers to Broadway were around 45-a hour but we knew that going in and wasnt really an issue. Didn't have any major issues getting food and supplies delivered either aside from a driver or two getting a tad lost. Host communication was on point and even let us check in early and check out late. Overall would definitely recommend!

Spring Break Getaway

We had a great time at The Getaway. The property was very secluded and quiet. There were ample games for my family. The fire pit area was perfect. And the owners were great at communicating. We had lots of rain and some massive storms, and they were quick to check and make sure we faired well. They were also quick to respond to any questions we had. I’d stay again!

Wonderful Getaway!

It was clear when pulling up to the property we had made a great choice. From the warm cozy cabin to the secluded property it was the perfect setting for us to take a breathe from everyday life and enjoy each others company. Definitely will come back again!

Beautiful Place

Our stay was great, the property is so peaceful. Sitting on deck in mornings, drinking coffee watching the wildlife. The game room is so fun. We did not have any kids with us but hey, us adults had fun. We were suppose to be 13 adults but only 4 of us made it on this trip. But the cabin is very spacious and if everyone would have made it there, there would still be plenty of spacious room and not feel crowded. We was looking forward to fishing in the pond but with the drought TN has been going through The pond was all dried up. I couldn't figure out how to turn thermostat down don't think you have control of that. But it stayed at 72° so wasn't bad. I have nothing negative to say about this beautiful Getaway. Thank you!

Amazing Relaxing Weekend

Location was great, pictures were almost exactly what you get except the pond is currently under renovation. Check in process and communication with the VRBO host was easy. We had a great time and couldn't have asked for a better location. Well worth the investment.

Amazing property!

The house and property was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay overall. I was a little mislead by the ad stating it was on a private 50 acre property. There is another house within view of the patio/fire pit area. It seems like the photos almost purposely hid that house. Still very private, but not exactly as the ad led me to believe. Also, the pull out sofa bed is broken in the downstairs bedroom. I read this in previous reviews, so I reached out prior to my stay and was assured that it was in good repair. It wasn’t. My niece slept on it and it completely sank in the center.

Time away

Awesome things about the property was the equipped kitchen, clean linens, board games, comfortable beds, bonfire area, large family gathering table, clean gas grill with plenty of propane, and porch area with rockers. Some things that could use a little more attention were some of the games in the game room. The internet service was intermittent in both the house and game room. The interior log walls in the house and light fixture in kitchen could use a deep cleaning to remove heavy dust. The upstairs bedroom with 2 queen beds had difficulty staying cool even though there was a vent in the center of the room. Overall there were so many other things that made our stay very enjoyable.

Family vacation 2023

Property was exactly as advertised. Rustic cabin in spacious hills outside of Nashville. Plenty of space for large groups. Great kitchen, great appliances, large dinning room table and wonderful fire pit. All bathrooms clean and inviting. Beds were comfortable! Unfortunately there were a couple of amenities that could use some attention. The pull out couch in the master bedroom off the dinning room was broken, couches in the living room are past the usefulness and uncomfortable, bunk beds are only useful for pre teens and under, ping pong table busted, no basketball shooting nets, only one of the three bikes were rideable, and most importantly THE INTERNET was very week leaving no ability to stream any movies on the great tvs throughout the cabin. Would still rent the cabin again but hopefully the issues could be addressed. Thanks.

Awesome Private Location!

We had a group of 10 friends come from various states to experience the Tennessee and Nashville life. The stay was fantastic, with a beautiful private location that has what feels like a mile long driveway! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Dishes and utensils were plentiful for the large group we had. Plenty of rooms and beds for everyone. Game room was a blast and one of the places we spent much time at. The front porch with the fireplace to the open view was where we spent most of our time relaxing. Overall, just a great location for a great value. Thank you!

wedding weekend/Easter family celebration

The property and location were wonderful. The VRBO listing states "This cabin is the perfect place to "get away" for both small and large gatherings". Under house rules it states- Maximum OVERNIGHT guests 16. We had 14 max overnight but had planned an Easter celebration for our 11 grandkids and their family. We were told the day we checked in the max on the property was TO BE A MAX OF 16 at one time. This made our weekend very stressful to say the least. Our gathering happened anyway.

Excellent place to stay

This house is so well set up for a family gathering. The kitchen is well stocked, plenty of board games and an entire garage of other game options. The setting is beautiful and the entire house was decorated for Christmas perfectly! Communication was excellent. We would highly recommend this rental.

Great Getaway Weekend

My wife & I along with our 4 close friends have been spending a long weekend together in September (usually Labor Day) since 1983. Originally we booked a chalet in Gatlinburg, but being from Nashville after the millennium we decided to stay closer to home. So we started booking lake houses on Center Hill & Tims Ford. Last year we purchased E-Bikes & since lake houses have limited property we found "The Getaway" with its pastures to be perfect. First the good stuff: The kitchen is supplied with every accessory one can imagine, there was plenty of room for everyone & everything, the home in general is very comfortable & livable, & the grounds were excellent for our rides. I would recommend it to anyone. Now the challenges: 1. On Saturday we wanted to watch football, but had trouble at first figuring out the Dish/LG remotes. Finally discovering that the Dish remote was missing batteries we had to steal some from the upstairs master*. 2. We also discovered the HDMI cable for the DVD player was missing so we had to disconnect the one to the Dish box & use it to watch DVDs*. 3. We were going to cook steaks on the gas grill only to discover that the only tank was empty. So we ended up pan frying them on the kitchen range*. *I notified the owner of these items, but unfortunately it wasn't until the next morning that he delivered them to us so we had to be a little creative as mentioned. 4. I would say inside the house was as clean as to be expected for a rental. The outside looked as if the cleaning crew does not address anything outside as there were bird nests in the eaves & guano on the porch deck below. This was also brought to the owner’s attention. All in all we had a great time at “The Getaway” & as afore stated I would recommend it to anyone.

Super Cute

We stayed here for a work retreat and were not disappointed. Internet was great and there was plenty of space to spread out. I could tell this property was well taken care of. We had a few minor maintenance issues that were recognized, there was a minor gnat issue, and the fishing pond wasn't really what was expected but other than that we were super satisfied! They even decorated for fall! I would certainly stay here again!

Family Trip

Overall we had a lovely time in this property. However, upon arrival we noted several issues. A leak from one of the bathrooms on the 2nd floor down to the table in the dining room, the handle on the fridge was loose and ultimately broke off, one of the cabinet doors was askew and the AC in the game room did not work. I communicated with the management team right away and they did respond timely. I do believe every effort was made to get the AC working ASAP and its not their fault the owners HVAC person was unreliable. Our overall impression of the house is that there has been wear and tear since the rentals started and while the house was super clean, maybe the other types of maintenance could be stepped up. Also we noted that the AC in the two second floor bedrooms ( the 4 bunks and 2 queens) was very weak and it was quite warm up there even at night. The property itself is beautiful. We loved the pond and fishing. The wrap around porch with rocking chairs and hammocks was where we spent a lot of time. Our kids even found fossils in the stream. The house was plenty big enough for our family of 14 to not be too cramped when we were all there. One thing to note is that there is a ton of construction happening elsewhere in that area. We had a contractor drive up to the house one day who we had hoped was the HVAC guy but really was trying to deliver lumber to a site.
