My husband and I paid extra for the superior room to be greeted by first being placed in the wrong room category and thereafter were told the hot water was not available at the time and would be fixed within a few hours. To our dismay the hot water was never fixed and we were told contradicting answers by front desk. Regrettably after paying $185 USD for this stay we had to shower in ice cold water. Not to mention the rooms were far from what is photographed on Expedia. Definitely a highly edited photo of what you really get. The room also had a very high musty scent. I complained to the manager about our poor stay and not to mention no hot water to only be told ‘well you were told on arrival there will be no hot water and it would be fixed’ it was never fixed! She also proceeded to inform us that no compensation can be issued due to us booking from a third party Expedia. This was nonsense and it is unfortunate that places like this continue to scam people.

Valued guest. We must apologize for your inconveniences experienced with us. As explained on arrival, there was an issue with our water heater, it was also being addressed. Management offered apologies right after check in and a token offer was also expressed. After your departure we again apologized and explained that any compensation would have to be granted through Expedia as your booking was not done directly with us. We again apologize for our challenges affecting your stay.

Very beautiful property. The staff was very attentive and the breakfast was good. We got the pool to ourselves on the day we decided to swim and it was clean as well. Loved the location, very close to all the beaches in Portland. Would def stay there again

This property has so much potential. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous views and lush gardens. Pool is nice and large. The service is really lacking. It takes forever if you order off the a la carte menu (1 hr for a snapper fillet with french fries!) The bedroom and bathroom are really dated. You can tell nothing has been done in a long while to improve the place and it's a real shame. We won't be coming back.

The Jamaican breakfast was excellent and Christine and Yanique provided the best service you could have possibly asked for. The staff at Jamaica Palace took care of me and the family. We could not have asked for a better place to stay.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Jamaica Palace in Portland. While the property is spectacular the gems of Jamaica Palace are the staff. Simone, Christine, Yanique and all the others whose names I did not get. You are all the benchmark of great service. Thank you for the experience.

Pleasant property, clean with reasonably up to date fixtures. WiFi slightly slow during our stay, and check in is manual however a convenient option at reasonable rates.

Jamaica Place is so intimate and relaxing all staff were extremely polite and welcoming. I will visit again and again. Even though we travelled 8 hours to drive there.

Great customer service all round. From front desk, to managers to bar staff and servers. Was really quiet as not many guests when we stayed which made it a nice relaxing experience. Roads leading to the property are quite bad as they are currently fixing them. Overall food was good (enjoyed dinner and breakfast) but lunch options could be improved.

The property was clean and kept in immaculate condition. The rooms and the bathrooms were very clean. Each day the housekeeping staff did a superb job in keeping the rooms clean. Jennifer, the supervisor of the housekeeping team, was awesome! The Chefs and the dining room team gave superior service and the meals were delicious and divine. Ms. Campbell and the front office team were very welcoming and made sure to cater to each guest’s needs. The grounds of the hotel are kept in pristine condition and the pool in the shape of Jamaica is one of the biggest and best kept pools I have seen. My stay at this hotel was wonderful!

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!! THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED, and I have stayed in many. 1. There are no AC in the dining/restaurant or Lobby 2. You are not allowed to have visitors to your rooms although this is not an all inclusive hotel with any amenities. 3. If you would like your guest to come to your room it is US$66 - for day pass - not stay over guest. 4. Remember there are no amenities 5. The beds are musty and stuffy 6. The beds are as tough as concrete- literally. 7. They seem to have plumbing issues / the toilet doesn’t flush properly and the water backs up in the tub 8. No kettle or coffeemaker , no coffee or tea. 9. They need a new chef- food is not good at all. However, The manager, Ms Campbell, is really not bad. ( the new owner I heard is very mean and oppressive). The staff are very pleasant and courteous - the best I’ve ever met in Jamaica - but they are not cheerful, you can tell just by looking at them. As nice as they are, they seem so timid and uncomfortable.

With our hotel being the worst place you have ever stayed, you did extend for 1 additional night, you were also offered a refund to be elsewhere but you took great offense to this offer and decided to stay with us. Despite all your complaints and disrespect of the hotel, every request you had was met and exceeded. Not all hotels carry AC in the lobby and the restaurant but we offered exquisite service to which you can attest to first hand, from the staff as well as a safe place to stay.I appreciate your complement of the manager, but be mindful of making negative comments and slander about the owner of the establishment of whom you admit you have never met or had any contact with. We hope you have better experiences elsewhere on your journey and thank you for the opportunity to have served you

We had a very pleasant two-day stay at Jamaica Palace. The condition of the property and facilities was excellent. Our only "gripe" was with the food; quality of preparation which can stand to be improved. This is the only area I'd give a merely OK rating.

Nice hotel
The rooms were nice and clean, the bed is a bit stiff. It would also be nice to have more of a variety in terms of food and if it could stay open a little bit later. The pool also closes early, at 6. The hotel employees were all very nice and helpful .
