The sea views alone stretch from the Akrotiri Peninsula and Chania Town on the right, via Agioi Theodoroi Island all the way across to the Rodopos Peninsula on the left - a vibrant, ever-changing panorama of which it is surely impossible to grow tired.

Nearby Maleme (1.7km) is a laid-back coastal enclave with good amenities that include supermarkets, cafés, coffee shops and a long beach fringed by popular tavernas. Rich in military history, this part of Crete played a key role in WWII and every year holds many impressive, commemorative events around the mid/latter part of May. Locally available leisure pursuits include snorkelling, fishing, boat hire and horse riding with country walks and biking trails also found in easy distance.
