What a beautiful place from which to explore Placencia!We booked la rotonda for a family birthday bash and loved every minute of our stay. The rooms were spacious, the beds comfortable (although most a bit small, except for the one king bed). The house has been recently remodeled, with a modern well-equipped kitchen, two spacious dining areas (one indoors, one on a screened porch) and a comfortable living area. Just outside is an ample shaded deck space and a lovely saltwater infinity pool. A few steps further and you're at the water's edge, where you can easily go for a swim. The location was convenient to the airport and local stores, and the house felt very safe and private, in a gated compound, with caretakers on the property.The owners and staff were super kind and helpful. Maritza cooked us a delicious typical Belizean dinner for our big birthday party, complete with a yummy chocolate cake. The two dogs who live on the property were absolutely delightful, and showed up as soon as we did, ready to move in. Against the rules, sadly, but we enjoyed their playful daily visits We only stayed for three nights, but would definitely come back for a longer visit!!

We had the most incredible stay at The Rotunda. Everything about this property was amazing. From check in to check out and everything in between we could not have asked for more. The property itself had it all. Plenty of space for 2 families with 4 kids 9-13. We enjoyed many days swimming In the pool, playing volleyball, fishing from the shores, and enjoying the board games at night. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything needed. The best part however was definitely Ruben and Maritza! They are truly one of a kind and amazing house managers. They helped us prior to arrival making reservations and booking tours. Once there they were willing to help with everything and kept the house and grounds immaculate. They cooked 3 meals for us and they were truly incredible and absolutely delicious. We enjoyed getting to know them as well. We were sad to leave after a week at this property!Great house, perfect location, amazing property and truly the best in Ruben and Martiza! Wonderful vacation all around!

Family of 7 and our first time to Belize. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The house was very clean and had everything this we needed. We spent lots of time lounging on the deck and the kids swam in the pool. Rubin and Mariza made our stay extra special by welcoming us and cooking a few fantastic dinners. You need to have them cook a few dinners, they are excellent cooks and hosts. They can also help you to book some great tours, just ask!Overall, it was a fantastic stay and would highly recommend!

We had such a wonderful stay. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and responsive, and the house itself was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. The amenities made it easy to relax and feel at home, and the grounds around the property were absolutely beautiful—peaceful, well-kept, and perfect for enjoying the surroundings. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.A major highlight was the two incredible meals cooked for us—a Caribbean dinner and a shrimp dinner—both absolutely delicious and unforgettable. And the desserts… hands down the best Key Lime Pie and chocolate cake we’ve ever had.

The house was perfect and well appointed. The true star of this property are the hosts, Ruben and Mariza!!!! They were great and always available. Picking us up from the airport and dropping us off. Taking care of our golf cart (Capt Jacs) so we did nothing for pick up or drop off. Ruben and Mariza are great chefs. Best meals were at home. Belize home cooking at its finest. Cost us less to eat in then to eat out with a better meal. Watching the pelicans every morning with coffee was a true highlight of our trip. We cant say enough nice things about this trip. Thanks again Mariza and Ruben!!!

This is our second time visiting La Rotunda. Placencia is a beautiful place and the people are some of the nicest most accommodating we have met in our travels. The house is a perfect location and great for families or groups. It is right on the beach and a short golf cart ride into town.Ruben and Marisa who manage the property are the best - great chefs and the nicest family. They make you feel right at home. Highly encourage the key lime pie and the crepe cake.We are already planning a trip back.

Everything was just as pictured or even better! There were 3 couples that thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Rotunda. Ruben and Mariza were so pleasant and helpful. Their recommendations were top notch of which one was a "hook and cook" island adventure. They are also excellent cooks! We only wish we had asked them to cook for us sooner in the trip so we could've enjoyed more of them! The homemade Belizean chocolate cake finished off our meal and vacation splendidly. We stayed here for 8 wonderful days, and from the moment we arrived, it was truly a pleasure. The house is not only beautiful but also extremely functional, everything you could possibly need is there, and most importantly, everything works perfectly, which makes such a difference when you’re on holiday.What truly made this stay special, though, were Ruben and Marisa. They took such genuine, thoughtful care of us that we felt more like welcomed friends than guests. From arranging our excursions to offering excellent local advice, they were always available, helpful, and kind. Their recommendations made our trip smoother and more memorable.One evening, we asked if they could cook for us, and it turned out to be a highlight of our stay. The meal was delicious. We felt comfortable, cared for, and completely at home throughout our stay. Everything about this place is a dream come true. Spend time with my family for a birthday trip. Ruben and Maritza were so wonderful. The trips Ruben and Maritza had set up where a five star. Enough room for my preteens to have their own space. I cannot mention the food enough. You can feel, see and taste the love they put into caretaking that property and its guests. Love love, love - thank you for the exceptional experience.

Fabulous Property and Outstanding Hosts!

This amazing house worked well for our group of seven, all adults. Everyone had their own bedrooms and baths and enjoyed the common areas, giving everyone an opportunity to go read or join in on the games. We used the paddleboard and kayaks in the ocean and spent many hours in and by the pool- plenty of sun or shade with comfortable outdoor seating. We had rented a golf cart so it was an easy 10 minute trip to Placencia to enjoy the charming town and several good restaurants. The hosts, Ruben and Maritza were very gracious and available to help with anything….make sure you have them cook for you, the food was yummy! We really fell in love with their dogs, Rex and Coco. Our only disappointment was that we couldn’t take little Coco home with us! No need to hesitate to book this house - it’s perfect!

Family Vacation

The home was beautiful and was perfect for our family. You truly don't need to leave the house. The view was amazing! We had 6 adults, a toddler and an infant. Ruben and Mariza live on the property but you never know they are there, they are there to help whenever needed but respect your privacy. Ruben cleaned up the back, pool and deck every morning and Mariza cleaned the house. They are so friendly and helpful. Ruben will take care of anything you need, excursions, airport transfers etc. Speaking of the airport, it is 5 minutes from the house. It was so nice to arrive and not have a far drive. Ruben had our golf cart ready for us at the airport and he took all of our luggage to the house. The house is a great location and easy access to town with all of the restaurants, shops etc. We took the excursion to Monkey River and really enjoyed it. Alex was our guide and he did a great job pointing out all of the wildlife. Our favorite restaurants were Rumfish, Big Becks, Bohemian and Cozy Corner for breakfast. We also loved the Turtle Inn (pretty and very relaxing) and the Breezeway Restaurant. This is a great house! The owner is also very responsive! 10 out of 10!

Gorgeous relaxing stay in Belize

We had such a great time at this rental. 8 people with 4 children and everyone had plenty of space. House had everything we needed and Ruben was always available to give recommendations and help us make reservations. Food in the area was great, plenty of things to do, but truthfully lounging around the pool was the best part.

Blissful Belize

My husband and I plus various family members spent five weeks at this wonderful property. The house and grounds are well-represented by the online photos. We particularly loved the patio and pool with the beach and ocean just beyond. The location, just outside Placencia but not in the village itself, was also to our liking. The house owner reached out to us before our stay and gave us a lot of useful info. Upon arrival, the caretakers, Ruben and Mariza, were so helpful. They cooked us dinner a couple of times -- spectacular! And provided a lot of information about the area, and helped recommend excursions and dining options. The house is well-equipped for cooking on your own, but near to many of the area's great restaurants. We highly recommend La Rotonda if you're looking for a peaceful stay on the beach in beautiful, laid-back Placencia!!!

Best in show!

Rueben and Mariza are amazing. We had transportation issues from the beginning and they made sure to keep in contact with us the entire time and even got us pizza so we'd have something to eat due to our late arrival. They were always available when needed and so friendly and helpful. By far the best property hosts I've ever had. They really are a treasure. And the reviews about the chocolate cake are 100% legit...the best chocolate cake I've ever had.

Amazing House in Perfect Location

We just spent Thanksgiving week at this amazing house and it did not disappoint. House was simply phenomenal. 4 large bedrooms and 4 large bathrooms, a great sunroom, and literally a large sanded backyard. Pool was big, kayaks and SUP right there, and there is a private beach. The property caretakers were the best. Every morning the beach was raked and we came home to a spotless house every night after activities. Ruben’s key lime pie was the best thing I’ve ever had - highly recommend eating in at least a bit because his food was our favorite. You’re just outside the village so we did take our golf cart into town to eat and explore. We hope to come back - don’t hesitate to book asap. It is pretty special.

Absolutely Incredible!

This house was perfect for our family of 6. So comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The pool and beach are stunning. Great location. The best part is Ruben and Mariza's incredible care taking. They help with whatever you need and keep the house tidy. The cooked for us three times and it was amazing. We absolutely loved our stay and would love to come back!

A slice of heaven!

This house was a perfect retreat for our family vacation. The large beach front property is beautifully maintained and equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our time. Ample outdoor seating and pool floaties are available to enjoy the cool, saltwater pool. The view to the beach and ocean is unobstructed and beautiful. Inside, we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Comfortable beds, plenty of towels for the pool and beach. Air conditioning. Grill. Washer/dryer. The house managers live on site and are kind, attentive and helpful. We definitely hope to return to this property.

Amazing vacation

Our group was celebrating milestone birthdays for 3 of us and we could not have picked a better place to stay. Reuben and Mariza were amazing. They were always available when needed but never obvious. They provided advice for where to purchase groceries/fruit and recommendations for activities. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed. The food they made was amazing! Fish was off the boat that day and the deserts were to die for! Others have spoken about Rex, the gentle gian, but Coco was also such a sweetie. The iguanas were a treat to watch from the pool. The location of the home was perfect…close to the village but still away from the bustle. Also easy to head north to 1981 where we had an amazing dinner. Overall this is an amazing home with awesome caretakers. We would definitely return.
