Definitely worth it

Amazing property. A 1903 custom home turned B&B. Lots of history and artifacts from around the world. Crystal, the manager, took us on a room by room tour and explained the details.

This B&B is wonderful. Crystal is so welcoming and loves sharing the history of her beautiful home. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. Water pressure in shower was great —( sometimes I have found it lacking at B&Bs). Breakfast was delicious — we had an early college visit booked and the chef prepared us delicious omelettes quickly and got us fed and on our way If she decides on a school in Pittsburgh I’ll definitely be staying here when I visit!

Romantic getaway!!!

The Mansion at Maple Heights was fantastic, a beautiful building. Crystal was a fantastic hostess and the room is immaculate! We would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to get away for a little while and a turn of the century mansion! the bed and breakfast is very romantic and secluded while at the same time close to shops and dining, very well located!

Cute and Cozy

Wonderful place to stay! Everyone was very amiable and warm. The mansion itself was gorgeous with its own Pittsburgh charm! The common space kitchenette was a plus, with my special dietary needs (I was able to keep things in the tiny fridge).

Beautiful 115 year old mansion in a quiet wooded setting. Comfortable rooms plus a library, sitting area and huge back porch. Great place to stay and see Pittsburgh or just relax for the weekend. Wonderfully gracious hosts. Definitely will return.

A lot of little things

Our room gorgeous. Bed very comfortable. The house itself is steeped in history. Now the little things. In my experience with B and B s There's usually some sort of, let's say hospitality room or area. In the Mansion it consists of an empty refrigerator and a coffee pot with the cheapest k cups they could get. No bottles of water, juice or soda. Not a cookie, cracker or a bag of peanuts. No bottles of water in the rooms. So as in our room we had our own coffee pot, if you wanted to drink the crummy coffee, you had to take the water from the bathroom. At breakfast the coffee still sucked. Breakfast was good , but a few mistakes were made. But this is minor . Shaun was a really nice guy, very personable. And Crystal knowledgeable about the Mansion. I just think it could be so much better. It's in the details. We spent a lot of time out on the back patio, but felt like we were annoying because we had to keep asking for ice for our cocktails. But all in all a beautiful place.

wonderful staff complement charming BandB

My mother recently stayed at the Mansion at Maple Heights and we were so well taken care of by the exceptional staff. Crystal was accommodating and enthusiastic in welcoming us and touring us around the property despite a late check-in, and GM/Chef Shaun went over and above in serving us and making us feel spoiled. The property is elegant and stately and I recommend this place highly.

Just remember it's an old bed and breakfast.

We were greeted with warm cookies and shown around the mansion. Then up the creaking floor staircase to our room. So nice and inviting. Also nice to have a vintage suite but the bathroom was newly remodeled.

a quasi "secret" driveway in the middle of Shadyside, leading up to a lovely Mansion getaway. COmfy, cozy, homey, lovely, with history that further enchants this Bed and breakfast.

Beautiful old mansion

We got an extensive tour of the house before heading up to our large, clean, third floor room. The queen beds were comfortable although i am not a fan of memory foam. Water pressure in the bathroom was excellent. I recommend getting at least one pancake at breakfast, just delicious.

Thankfully, being renovated

We were disappointed with the overall condition of the setting. It is a beautiful building but reportedly has been used extensively as an event venue, resulting in visible wear and tear to the building. Our bathroom was super clean and luxurious, but the room we stayed in looked dingy, with carpet that needs replacing and walls in need of repair: We still paid full rate. I would happily pay a reduced rate for a room under these circumstances but expecting one thing and encountering another amounted to deflation.

Lovely mansion!

Great location, interesting and historic building. Staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. Stayed in the Berger Suite - very large and clean, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, and service was quick and pleasant. We absolutely stay here again the next time we are in Pittsburgh.

Beautifully-restored mansion, excellent service, delicious breakfast.

We were received by a manager who gave us a brief tour of the mansion and shared a little about its history. The entrance hallway and the common areas are gorgeous. The room was nicely-decorated. The owner served a delicious breakfast in the morning in a sunlit dining room. Altogether a very pleasant stay. Highly recommend.

Great experience

Had a great time, the place is beautiful, the service is wonderful. I was there to recover from a medical procedure, so the staff was very concerned and mindful of my possible need for assistance. Used a delivery service for meals, so I had every one of my needs met. Will definitely go back when I can.

In Need of Tender Loving Care

Mansion is stunning from the outside beautified architecture. Location is great! I lived in Pittsburgh for years and never knew this place existed very private. When you enter the foyer, the mansion looks grand and takes you back to early the 1900's (love the library). The stained-glass windows are beautiful and the history of the mansion is very interesting. After you walk up the grand stairway, it all changes. 2nd FLOOR - echoes from lack of wall hangings/furniture to buffer noise. The rooms are nice w/hardwood flooring (only 2 rooms on 2nd floor). 3rd FLOOR - the hall/stairs leading to the 3rd floor is creepy and extremely worn/chipped and dirty. The 3rd floor had a mini-kitchen which was nice, however they are very conservative on coffee and there are no dishes for guest to use (only paper cups for the coffee). The 3rd floor flooring was obviously not leveled before the installation of low-end laminate. There are bubbles in most places you step (which is a safety issue). Cracks in the walls adorn the hallway and bedrooms. Again echoes from lack of wall hangings/furniture to buffer noise (you can hear people walking on the floor). ROOM carpet stains, bathroom towel hooks about to fall off the wall, paint chipping from walls/doors/frames, unpainted spackle in room/bathroom walls, minimal toiletries - the list goes on. The kicker - I was told by the house-greeter to use a blue towel on my face because of my make-up. If makeup was found on white towels I would be charged - really? I have travelled all over the country - this was a first! BREAKFAST was okay. The room had water damage on the ceiling/wall and 4-5 small round tables. Pleasant enough. The food was average. The frame of the mansion may be standing in a hundred years, however if they dont invest some love and care to the internal damage(s), this B&B wont be around much longer

Anniversary Stay in Mansion at Maple Heights

The Mansion was breathtaking, with great attention taken to having it in pristine condition. We were also impressed with the pleasant service we received during our 4 night stay. We hope to visit again the next time we're in Pittsburgh.
