Summary:
La Grange is a beautifully reimagined ranch on 10 private acres in Pioneertown, where refined interiors and wide-open desert make staying in as appealing as going out. Spend afternoons beside the expansive pool, gather for drinks at the built-in bar, and watch the mountains change color from the hot tub or fireside lounge. With thoughtful spaces for gathering and unwinding, this is a desert retreat designed to be enjoyed at your own pace.
The Space:
There is a quiet sophistication to La Grange. Exposed wood beams, white oak cabinetry, natural stone and soft, neutral furnishings bring warmth to its clean architecture, while generous windows and doors connect the interiors to olive trees and the surrounding desert. The home feels polished without being precious, equally suited to a relaxed weekend with friends or several days spent doing very little beyond enjoying the property. A sheltered courtyard and inviting outdoor spaces offer different places to gather, while the primary suite provides a particularly indulgent retreat of its own.

-Outdoor Amenities-
The grounds are a defining part of La Grange. Beyond the landscaped areas surrounding the house, ten acres of open desert extend toward the mountains, creating a feeling of freedom and space that is increasingly hard to find. Olive trees, sculptural cacti and native desert plants soften the architecture without taking away from the expansive views.
The swimming pool is the centerpiece of the outdoor experience, surrounded by generous decking, comfortable loungers and umbrellas for afternoon shade. The adjoining in-ground hot tub offers a welcome change of pace, whether you're easing into the morning or winding down after exploring Pioneertown.
There is plenty of room to make an entire day of being outside. Settle into the cushioned seating around the propane fire pit, prepare dinner on the BBQ, or gather around the outdoor dining table as the evening cools. Closer to the house, a covered patio and mature trees provide another inviting place to sit, with doors that open directly into the living area.
When the sun begins to drop behind the mountains, the landscape takes on the warm colors that make this part of the desert so compelling. With space to spread out and several distinct areas for relaxing, guests can easily spend an afternoon together without everyone needing to do the same thing.
-Living Area-
Inside, La Grange feels both welcoming and thoughtfully composed. Exposed timber beams bring a touch of ranch character to an otherwise contemporary space, while white walls, pale wood cabinetry and a mix of upholstered and leather seating create a calm, comfortable atmosphere.
A generous sectional anchors the living room, making it easy for everyone to gather for conversation or a movie on the large smart TV. Built-in shelving adds warmth and personality, while the indoor fireplace makes the room particularly inviting on cooler desert evenings.
Glass doors open to the covered patio and surrounding landscape, bringing in natural light and allowing the living area to extend outdoors.
The built-in bar adds a distinctly social touch to the home. It's a natural place to mix a cocktail before dinner, open a bottle of wine after an afternoon at the pool, or settle in for a relaxed evening without leaving the house.
-Kitchen and Dining-
The kitchen is one of La Grange's most beautiful spaces, pairing warm white oak cabinetry with Taj Mahal stone countertops and a striking stone feature wall. A broad window above the sink frames the desert landscaping, making even the everyday ritual of preparing breakfast feel connected to the surroundings.
Modern appliances, generous counter space and a well-stocked selection of cookware make the kitchen equally comfortable for quick meals and evenings spent cooking together. The breakfast bar provides casual seating and a convenient place for guests to keep the cook company.
Coffee from Joshua Tree Coffee Co. is provided, bringing a little local flavor to your morning routine.
Indoor dining connects naturally with the kitchen and living spaces, while outdoor dining areas offer the option to take meals into the fresh air. Whether you're preparing a leisurely breakfast before exploring or enjoying dinner at home, the layout encourages everyone to stay connected.
-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-
La Grange accommodates up to six guests across three bedrooms with three beds and two and a half bathrooms. The sleeping spaces continue the home's understated design, with a warm, neutral palette that makes returning to your room feel like a welcome retreat.
The primary suite is especially memorable. More than simply a bedroom, it includes its own comfortable lounge area with a large smart TV and electric fireplace, giving guests a separate place to relax away from the main living room.
Its raised, open-plan ensuite is a centerpiece of the home's design. A freestanding soaking tub takes center stage, complemented by a generous rainfall shower, double vanities, warm wood finishes and elegant fixtures. The open layout gives the room a distinctive, spa-like feel, with the bathing area integrated into the suite rather than enclosed behind a traditional bathroom door.
Two additional bedrooms complete the accommodations, along with another full bathroom and a half bath for added convenience.
La Grange is a home that invites you to enjoy Pioneertown on your own terms. Venture out for an evening of live music and dinner at Pappy & Harriet's, explore the area's distinctive shops and restaurants, or simply stay put and enjoy the expansive grounds, beautifully designed interiors and unhurried pace of the desert.
