We arrived to find the home uncleaned: urine on the toilet seat and bowl, unwashed towels in the laundry area, an unmade bed that had been slept in, dirty sinks and floors, a grimy refrigerator, and a couch covered in grease and crushed chips.We texted the host at 5 PM — one hour after check-in. No response. We called VRBO, who also attempted to reach him multiple times with no answer. Stranded in an unfamiliar mountain town on a holiday weekend with no options, we slept on the couch and purchased our own supplies to clean the bathrooms and couch ourselves.The host responded 13 hours later on Easter morning, offering to arrange cleaning — but couldn't give a timeline, as he hadn't heard from his cleaning crew. Everything in town was closed. We asked for a refund; he said we owed him for the night stayed. My husband called twice — no answer. VRBO called — same. When asked for a property manager, he said to go through VRBO. Since VRBO's process requires resolution from the host, and the host refused to engage either party, we left with no resolution.Avoid this listing.
