"Great place just outside the old city. Check in was easily coordinated. The room was comfortable and spacious. Simple bath products. Nice little snacks and coffee as a welcome. Easy to walk to the Sassi and see Old Matera. Would recommend."

"Great location when visiting Matera for three nights. The hotel consist of various rooms that are spread around the area, but all close to the reception. Staff were service minded and breakfast was great. Overall a great experience to stay in a room inside a cave. Btw the parking service and combined shuttle was a good setup. We can highly recommend Thymus Residence."

"We had a fantastic stay In The honeymoon room, it was warm, comfy, and the bath was amazing. Breakfast in bed before leaving was great. Parking is difficult in Matera but if lucky you can get a space right outside like we managed too. Antonio was great throughout our stay. "

"It’s a very nice cave hotel that is very conveniently located to explore the old Matera on foot. It is safe and quiet at night. There is also a very good restaurant right outside the door Dominica was absolutely wonderful. She came to meet me all the way at the airport, even though my flight was delayed and I didn’t arrive until the evening. She also gave me a detailed information on what to see in the town, the most important landmarks, where to go for nice views, where to go out to eat, etc....

"Everything about the hotel facilities were nice all you will need. I might be a bit spoiled, but I do not enjoy the toast bread, the small pacakages of butter, solid jam found in the small glass containers and the like served at breakfast. Why not serve fresh bread that we can cut slices of, high quality jam etc.? However, this issue with the poor quality of the breakfast seems to apply to all hotels that I have visited in Italy."
