Best service and hotel ever!
My family and I spend a night at the Paihia Beach Resort and we loved it. We had plenty of room. My girls enjoyed the pools and there is a small play ground just across the street which my little son loved to play at. The view is fantastic, both from the apartment, the pools and the play ground. We had breakfast brought to the room. It was great! Highly recommended. Unfortunately, I had some chest pain the final day we were there. The receptionist was very professional and helped me call the doctor and later on an ambulance. I really would like to thank her a lot. She provided my kids with sodas while we were waiting. She even offered to look after them. But we managed and it turned out that my heart was just fine! Thank you very much for a wonderful stay and service. We would definetely go back!

Beautiful location with great views of bay of islands. Room nicer than expected with dishes etc. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Clean and very nice.

Our stay was great, the only thing that could have been better was parking and signage for the reception to the resort; otherwise would highly recommend.

What we thought was going to be a hotel room turned out to be a small apartment. Great surprise. Even better, it’s right across the street from a nice beach.

The view from our room was amazing and the pool area was fantastic. However, the whole resort needs some TLC - quite a few areas needed painting or high pressuring. The room fit out seemed quite dated too and in need of modernising. It didn't seem like a 5 star property, though maybe was when it was first built. Overall done good bones but needs investment to bring it back up to scratch.

Lovely views from each unit and location was great with shops restaurants etc all walkable. The pool area was a bit tired, with not enough lounge chairs but the pool itself was lovely.

Pleasant couples retreat
We had a nice stay however the hotel is a bit tired and dated - not a 5 star by any means. Staff were pleasant and the breakfast was good. Location is good but it's about a 10 min walk to the main bars and restaurants in paihia.

Great location - tired facilities
Great service from the inside staff - friendly and helpful. Room cleanliness etc is great. But it's been a long time since the 'resort' looked as good as it does in the photos - which is what we bought. The owners need to spend money - the facilities are tired.

Resort is a little tired and could do with a refresh. Location is good although a little walk to the township and if the weather is not so good a 2 min drive. The drive way is really awkward and hit and miss for parking!

The room and balcony overlooking Bay of Islands were gorgeous. A full kitchen and cooking facilities was a pleasant surprise. Only problem was jets not working in any of the hot pools but the pools themselves were lovely.

I thought the property entrance was very poor and the parking {only 3 cars] was not as safe as it should have been. The beds were good but the rest off the furniture was uncomfortable

No parking facility at the property, tight street parking spaces. I was told water was leaking from our bathroom into kitchen below- very unhygienic. There was water leaking from dishwasher (without using it). There was a lot of “may be” “could be” etc from staff, I had to pursue them for their plan and discount for inconvenience caused.

15 minute walk to the historic Waitangi treaty grounds. 7 minute walk to the pier and to the town area. Good on premise restaurant, The GlassHouse. Beautiful sunrise view from rooms.

We managed to grab a 2 night special for $294.00 so felt the price was great. Liked the 4th floor room very big and fantastic balcony looking to the sea. Free wi fi lots of sky channels and the option to chromecast to the tv from your screening device. Staff friendly

The convenience of the location, and proximity to restaurants and and entertainment. Great staff and view. Didn’t like the parking garage if you need to leave early in the morning the gate was locked and no attendant. Other than that it was perfect 👍

Potential loss due to Architectural neglect.
The Photos and proclamation of a 5 star Resort gave reason for high expectations. Although years have seem to taken its toll, and this hotel is not in prime condition. Every spa along the pool side is non-functional/controls broken, tiles chipped, dirty. We didn't end up using them despite it being the primary reason for electing this hotel. The outside of the building needs a repaint, but the interior doesn't fair any better and numerous scratches marks, damage has shown years of neglect that have not been remedied. Many outdated nineties era fixtures are due for replacement (and not just for rusty/damage/appearance sake). Its a shame as this hotel has huge potential to be the best in Bay of Islands
