"The staff was so friendly. There were lots of animals: peacocks, cats, frogs, geese. We loved it! We booked it to be closer to Volcanoes National Park, without realizing there was no road that cuts across. We had to go amidst to Hilo in order to go back down to the Volcanoes, so it wasn't the most convenient, but we loved the vibe!"

"We loved our stay at Kehena house! We were greeted by Stephen when we arrived and given a quick tour. They were hosting a Pride potluck that day and he kindly invited us to come eat and join in as guests of the house. Everyone we met was friendly and we felt safe to be ourselves. "We enjoyed our stay at this off-the-beaten path bnb. Hosts were very informative and welcoming. Stay here if you want to fall asleep to the sounds of frogs and birds, shower under the moonlight, and breakfast with the geckos. There’s no A/C but plenty of fans kept us cool. "

"I really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a month while we relocated from Ohio. The owners were easily accessible and very kind. The house was clean and fully stocked. The property was secluded and the the nature all around was relaxing. The owners were knowledgeable about local attractions and places to eat. The location is ideal for lava hiking as well as taking the tour with the lava-boat - in our view the number one thing to do when visiting Hawaii - it is breathtaking, wild, impressive views."
