When we arrived at 10:30pm after working all day in the heat and then pooring rain, we came into a steamy hot house with wet slippery floors because the AC was turned off.When we went to take showers... the water would not get even warm. We had to take ice cold showers. When I contacted the host she said that the water was hot last time she was there and gas lit me, but said she'd send her maintenence person over the next day. I explained to her that we are working all weekend and that we would not be at the property. When we got off work the next day, the water was still cold and no updates from the host. I contacted her again and asked her what happened, and she stated the maintenance person wouldn't come in if we werent there... even though she never told me that we needed to be present or gave a time frame. I kindly asked for compensation on the booking fee since the most important amenities were not available that I paid for and it was unacceptable to not have hot water in the house for bathing or cleaning dishes/laundry. She locked the laundry room so we didn't even have access to that although it is listed in the amenities. She then threatened to cancel my reservation and told me we didnt need hot water in the summer! I nicely asked her to allow us to complete our stay b/c I couldn't find a new place while working and I contacted VRBO about the issues. ALSO, the oven didnt work so my food for the 4 of us was wasted. We didnt use the pool, but that had issues too.
