Absolutely stunning both inside and out, this Eastsound retreat will be just the place to get away from it all and enjoy the green foliage and serenity of Orcas Island. With vaulted ceilings, a wood-burning stove, gorgeous outdoor spaces, and a spacious layout, everyone will feel right at home in no time. Start foggy mornings with a cup of coffee on the deck and breathe in the fresh air as you plan a full day of fun. You won't have to go far for endless activities, as easy access to the water below will keep everyone busy. When visitors build up an appetite, the full kitchen is ready for any recipe with beautiful stainless steel appliances, white countertops, and bar seating. Enjoy reminiscing with loved ones at the dining table or eat al fresco at the picnic table on summer evenings. When the stars come out, cozying up by the fire while a movie plays on the flatscreen TV will be an ideal way to end each perfect day away.

Though this home is secluded on its own part of the island, heading into town or spending a day on the water will be a breeze. Downtown Eastsound is just five-and-a-half miles from your front door offering grocery stores, delicious restaurants, museums, and outdoor gear rentals. If there are a few outdoorsy members of the group, they will be glad to know that Moran State Park is also close by boasting gorgeous trails, expansive greenery, and various lakes to get your fill of nature.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Lovely home in beautiful woods

Spacious house with very well equipped kitchen. Space heaters for the cool nights. Available wood was too wet to make a proper fire in the wood stove. Key pad entry hard to make work and we called for help which came right away.

Excellent Getaway in Our Favorite Spot

We have been coming to Orcas annually for Spring Break for almost a decade and have stayed in a bunch of different places. This is definitely one of our favorites. The walk to the shared beach is easy and the beach is great. The house is well-appointed and comfortable. Our biggest piece of feedback is one that most houses get: not enough comfortable seating for a family of 4. The one couch is getting tired and the chairs are not cozy enough. If a place sleeps 4, there should always be at least 1 couch and 1 loveseat in good condition. In Spring the fact that the house is uninsulated wasn’t a problem, but I think it would be really rough in winter or summer. Those bits aside, we would absolutely stay there again.

Great house near Eastsound!

We came to explore Eastsound and Doe Bay, so this house was the perfect spot to enjoy fun evenings of games while still being close enough to get to town and around the whole island. The front porch is wonderful with comfy furniture and lots of space. The bedrooms are on split levels with lots of room. Great kitchen with everything we needed. Very easy check-in instructions and no long chore list for checking out. Thank you for being dog-friendly!

We had a wonderful stay & highly recommend, quiet part of the island with private beach access. In August we experienced all types of weather - rain / sun / cold / hot so pack for a typical PNW trip!

Nice place, nice visit, would rent again.

Comfortable, well maintained property. It's a great place to decompress with a peaceful location toward the end of the road. There is a nice small community beach to wander and take in the sea, Mt Baker, and comb for shells, etc. Wifi was strong. Check in and check out were easy. One word of caution is that the place could become unreachable or nearly so if there is significant snow or ice in winter.

Wonderful cabin!

We loved our stay at this nicely renovated house in the woods! It made me want to move to the island and live in that peaceful spot all the time! There was a fairly well equipped kitchen but there was only one small cutting board which made cooking meals a little tough.

Tranquil secluded spot with beach access

Most of the time the only sounds we could hear were the birds and the water down at the nearby beach. The home was comfortable and seemed plenty spacious enough for us despite the pictures making it look a little cramped.

Great place for a relaxed moment away from city

The property is very well maintained in a remote location close to a private beach. The ocean view from the upper room is delightful. A bit cold in the winter despite the numerous small electric heaters, but this adds to the rusticity of the place. The kids loved it too!

This is not a winter property

My husband and I were looking for a cosy relaxing vacation away from the city for 3 nights, but unfortunately this property was freezing cold and damp when we arrived. The property manager who did call me before arrival to let me know it would be a little cold, had lit the fire, but as the wood was also wet, it couldnt stay lit. The property manager had also brought in multiple space heaters to warm the house (which of course was a good temporary solution), but when you turned on the light in the kitchen or bathroom - it blew the fusebox, so it was either HEAT or LIGHT. This property should not have been rented in February - its a summer rental. I was offered other properties, but I felt If this was considered ok to rent, I was not willing to try another property and have yet another sleepless night of an already shortened vacation. We canceled our stay and am awaiting a full refund.

Great stay - few minor issues

Great place, great view, clean and comfy! Small issues: kitchen sink was clogged when we got here so we had to wash our dishes in our cooler filled with soapy water, and the breaker tripped pretty consistently all weekend, knocking out lights in the kitchen and upstairs bedroom. We didn’t mind but it might be worth fixing.

For the most part, we had a fantastic stay! The house was stocked with everything we needed!

Our stay was great. The home was clean and you could clearly see that they had made an effort to make it look nice for us. My only complaint would be the dust. For some reason the home was not dusted at all. There were cobwebs in almost every corner. There was even dust on nozzle of the kitchen sink. Other than this, we had a great stay and over all, it was a lovely home!

The property was nice. The only change I would have liked to see was there was no cable TV. I was unable to watch the football game. Other than that small item, it was a very nice place to stay and we may rent again in the future. The local eateries were closed Sunday and Monday, which made dining out difficult.

Nice stay, some surprises

Overall we really enjoyed our stay! On the whole the property was largely what I expected, but there were some surprises that ended up being okay, but had the potential to really damper our weekend. Pros: - beds were super comfy - place was very clean - nice large yard - tall ceilings and airy living space - not too far from town Cons: - the heating did not work properly. there were space heaters that helped heat a couple of rooms, but the wall unit that was supposed to be an AC + heat unit did not work at all. Because the house also doesn't get a lot of direct sunlight throughout the day and we were not there during a particularly warm week, the house was quite cold. There was a wood burning stove in the living room and thankfully, there was a TON of pre-cut firewood out in the yard that we could use, so we had to rely on that for heat. Luckily, I was with people who are familiar with how to operate wood fire stoves, but this is not a skill everyone has or is comfortable with or frankly wants to deal with on their vacation. Overall we are a group that does enjoy fires and had the skill set so it ended up being okay, but it did become a major focal point of the weekend as we were always having to tend to it, bring in wood, etc. We were also then approached by a neighbor who came knocking on the door to reprimand us for violating the current burn ban. We explained that it was our only heat source and called the fire dept who assured us that an indoor wood burning stove was permitted during the burn ban, but the neighbor was still quite disgruntled and it was a less than ideal experience... Overall we were not pleased that this was not communicated to us prior that wood-stove would be the primary heat source. I reached out during the trip and was told that the wall unit would work for heat, but we each (5 different adults) tried several times, over several days and "youtubed it" and everything and could not get it to work - only room/area with a true water view was the upstairs suite, which was absolutely lovely, but then difficult for all guests to enjoy if the couple staying in that room wants privacy - the photos definitely make this unit appear a little more polished. we noticed several unfinished areas of clearly a DIY home projects. Didn't bother us at all, but it's worth noting that is was another thing that wasn't quite as advertised

Great house

We had a perfect get away and the house has a great set up for our 2 families...bunk room for the kids, open layout for cooking / being together, perfect beach at the end of the road (and down the path). We would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful month long getaway!

We spent a month on Orcas Island and had a wonderful time! The house was beautifully remodeled and the view from the upstairs bedroom was a joy to wake up to. We had quite the storm come through and turned the place into a winter wonderland, with plenty of wood piled outside we stayed cozy with the stove. If you are working remotely for an extended period of time I would recommend bringing an Ethernet cable to wire in directly to the router. Would definitely recommend!
