Holidays on the romantic Middle Rhine - spend your well-deserved time out in our cosy and comfortably furnished 4**** holiday flat, where you can really feel at home.
It is located in Oberdiebach, a quiet side valley of the Rhine, in the centre of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It is situated on a slope in the basement of our house with a separate entrance to the living area, allowing you to enjoy a beautiful view of the valley all the way to the Rhine. It was completely renovated and lovingly furnished in 2019.
With a living space of 62 m², it offers enough space for 2 to 4 people.

The flat is located approx. 1 km from the Rhine. The Rheinburgen hiking trail passes right outside the front door, as does the Schellengang premium hiking trail. This is the ideal starting point for your hikes.
Not far from the village is a semi-open pasture landscape with Exmoor ponies and goats, which is always worth a walk.
The village has a playground for our younger guests.

The flat includes:
- a separate bedroom with double bed and plenty of storage space. Bed linen is provided at no extra charge.
- a spacious living and dining room with a flat screen TV, which invites you to spend cosy hours. The large pull-out sofa bed (240x160) with comfortable topper offers sleeping space for a further 2 people.
persons. From the cosy dining area you can enjoy the view over the valley and the hillside opposite with its grazing goats. The living room is a connecting room to the bedroom.
- A separate, well-equipped kitchen with a small seating area. The kitchenette has a dishwasher, oven with ceramic hob, extractor fan and fridge-freezer. Guests also have access to a
microwave, kettle, egg cooker, toaster, filter coffee machine and blender.
- A modern bathroom equipped with a large bathtub, shower with hand and rain shower and bench as well as a stool. Towels and hairdryer are provided.
- The kitchen and the bathroom are basement rooms
- Free WLAN and Internet
- The flat is not handicapped accessible as a staircase leads to the entrance area.
- We ask for your understanding that pets are not allowed, as well as smoking in the flat.
- Please contact us if you need baby equipment (travel cot, high chair). We will provide these for a small fee


In the outdoor area you will find seating and the possibility to light the barbecue on warm summer evenings (charcoal grill + electric grill available).
We also offer a small selection of regional wines for a fee.

Surroundings
The village of Oberdiebach was first mentioned in documents in 893. It is a small village with old half-timbered houses, including what is probably the oldest Gothic half-timbered house on the Middle Rhine, built in 1369. The centre of the village is St. Mauritius Church, built in the 14th century, which towers above the village and is well worth seeing. The village is surrounded by vineyards and forests.

The Middle Rhine Valley stretches 67 kilometres from Bingen to Koblenz. It was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002. Over 20 castles and castle ruins characterise the romantic and picturesque scenery of the Middle Rhine. Wine is grown on the steep slopes in many places and can be savoured in numerous wine taverns. Wine tastings are also on offer.

Excursion tips;

Bacharach (4km) : In the old, picturesque town of Bacharach you will find a jetty from which you can start beautiful day trips up and down the Rhine. The old town with the Old House, St Peter's Church, its town wall, Werner Chapel
and Stahleck Castle is also worth a visit. There is also a railway station.

Oberwesel (11 km) > walkable town wall, Schönburg castle, Günderrodehaus, Liebfrauenkirche church

Bingen (15 km) > Mäuseturm, park at the Mäuseturm, Rhine promenade, St Hildegard.

Rüdesheim (17 km) > Drosselgasse and Niederwald monument, Ringtour > Bingen - Rüdesheim - Assmanshausen with boat, cable car, hike and chairlift.

St. Goar - St. Goarshausen (18 km) > Loreley cliffs with summer toboggan run, Rheinfels Castle

Rheinböllen (10 km) > Hochwildschutzpark, leisure pool

Bad Kreuznach (30 km), Bad Münster am Stein > thermal baths, spa centre, spa gardens, Salinental valley, Rheingrafenstein ruins, Rothenfels, Ebernburg castle

Geierlay suspension rope bridge, Lauschhütte climbing forest

The Rheinburgen hiking trail on this side of the Rhine and the Rheinsteig trail on the right side of the Rhine are particularly suitable for our guests who enjoy walking. These lead along marvellous viewpoints of castles and the Rhine. But there are also other impressive hiking trails, including through various gorges, which will delight hikers

Don't forget to bring your bikes. You can plan wonderful tours on cycle paths on both sides of the Rhine. You also have the option of hiring our own 2 bicycles.

We also organise a wide variety of events. These include annual wine festivals, "Rhine in Flames" from July to September in several towns in the Middle Rhine Valley,
