"We were traveling from California to Michigan and made an overnight stop in Council Bluffs. Since we were traveling with pets, we needed a pet-friendly hotel and chose the American Inn after reading many positive online reviews. The staff was very kind and friendly, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the condition of our room was disappointing. The moment we walked in, there was a strong odor that smelled like mold. The wall AC unit appeared to have a newer front cover, but the inside was...

"We booked 3 rooms for 2 adults and 2 children in each room. We were assigned rooms with one king bed and a pull out. We were not given sheets or pillows for the pull out so the entire stay was uncomfortable. It happy at the rate we paid. "

"Greeted at front desk as I walked in for check in. Staff are friendly and helpful and the lobby is a great spot for getting together with a small group in the evening to catch up. Breakfast options provided were typically for continental breakfast. Overall a great location and would stay here again."
