"Very nice place. Checked in and out efficiently with very helpful staff. Rooms were good, not a lot of room but comfortable and clean.
Breakfast area was small. Breakfast is listed as continental and it is with waffles. Only thing i missed was hot tea. There were no tea bags for breakfast or in the evening."
"This is an absolutely fantastic place. The experience starts in the nice lobby with a friendly and smiling greeting. I am glad we found this gem of an inn. Spacious and clean rooms and a great pool area. There is a couple of nice smaller restaurants across the street, and you can enjoy an evening stroll along the river. We should have stayed longer."
"I called them about a reservation, they gave me a price. I told them that I just saw a price that was lower. They said this was the lowest available and that if you book the reservation with any other avenue that the reservation isn't guaranteed. Someone was really wanting a commission. Saved $ by not booking with the hotel. "
"Bed was not super comfortable. Inner spring mattress…? Bed felt somewhat hard and uncomfortable- but linens were clean and comfy and bed wasn’t impossible to sleep in- just wasn’t the most comfortable I’ve slept in- not a deal breaker and I’d stay again. We love the historic look of the Balsam mountain Inn, we learned that it changed ownership a few years back and the new owners are looking to preserve the classic look that appeals to everyone so much. They want to keep it as original as possible which is great, the down side of that is they removed the window units from the rooms.
