"Cute secluded stay with great views of the mountains and only a few minutes away from the beach. The grounds were beautiful with lots of flowers. Didn’t get a chance to use the pool but the water felt warm and was very clean. Enjoyed listening to and watching the birds at breakfast in the morning. Would stay here again! "

We spent one day at the pool from 12-4pm and had no one come borther us. The receptionist was always kind and helpful. "Hotel 1697 is truly a hidden gem located right off the main plaza. This was our 4th time staying here after trying a few others in the area. The rooms are always very clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff are helpful , the breakfast is delicious, served poolside. What a great way to start your day! "

"We loved the location 3 minute walk to the old mission. The place was clean and the wifi worked albeit Mexican style. Everything is a short walk therefore a vehicle is not necessarily. Hertz is a short walk should you need a car for the day.
